Our Workforce Development Program Manager Megan Anderson is part of the Harbor Freight Leadership Lab, sponsored by Harbor Freight Tools for Schools. Bringing together leaders from across the skilled trades ecosystem to identify strategies to elevate the effectiveness of skilled trades education leaders in our workforce.

Earlier this month she attended an in-person convening in Las Vegas with her other cohort members from around the country. We're excited by the ideas she's bringing back around how CHERP can engage in expanding access to opportunities in the skilled trades to all members of our communities that we serve!

This past Wednesday the Transformational Climate Communities met at the beautiful Lopez Urban Farms here in Pomona. These amazing organizations are here to help Pomona become more climate resistant, bring health, economic and environmental benefits to the community and we have never been more proud to be working with them! We are beyond grateful to be welcomed into this community looking to make real change in the lives of the people around us.

We want to give a special shout out to Chip Leigh from Terra Tech Solar for coming out this passed Friday for a tour in Pomona! Chip is working with Nik Schlosser on building support for a CHERP factory all the way in Laredo, Texas!! Chip was full of enthusiasm for what we're doing and we are so glad to be getting his support.

Recently, our very own Megan Anderson spoke to Mayor Sandoval and the City Council of Pomona to relay our mission in search of further support from the city and the community alike. We at CHERP are working everyday to provide our community with new opportunities and change the future for the better.
