Honored and grateful for this shout-out from Together for Kids 💙

Thank you for the kind words and for the incredible work you do every single day for our youths in Thurston County. Being able to support programs like Host Homes, and personally deliver a Christmas gift to one of the students, was truly meaningful for me.

This is what community is all about, showing up, supporting our youths, and helping create safe, stable paths forward.

I’m proud to stand alongside Together for Kids and the amazing host families and supporters who make this mission possible.

This is what community looks like.
This is how lives are changed, one youth, one home, one relationship at a time.

The holidays aren’t joyful for everyone… and that’s okay. 🎄
What many call “the most wonderful time of the year” can actually be one of the hardest. The season can stir up stress, overwhelm, loneliness, grief, or a mix of emotions that feel tough to carry.

If you’re navigating the holiday blues, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to go through it without support. Here are some gentle reminders to help protect your mental health this season:

✅ FUN, NOT PERFECTION
Let go of trying to make everything flawless. Focus on moments of joy, not perfect outcomes.

✅ ANTICIPATE STRESS
Have a strategy before the tough moments arrive.
• Step outside for fresh air
• Take a short walk
• Visit your favorite store for a quick reset

Little breaks can make a big difference.

✅ LEARN TO SAY NO
You do not need to attend every event. Choose the ones that fill you up, and give yourself permission to decline the rest.

✅ AVOID DRAMA & CONFLICT
Family dynamics can be draining. Protect your peace by stepping away from tension when needed.

✅ SELF-CARE MATTERS
Pay attention to your sleep, eating habits, and downtime. Rest isn’t a luxury, it’s essential, especially during stressful seasons.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or low, please reach out. Talk to family, friends, or a local community organization. You are not alone.

📞 Depression Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text 988

💙 Your mental and emotional well-being matters, today and every day.

To become the best version of yourself you need to work on yourself everyday, little by little, chip way until you're true self is revealed and the beautiful thing about growth and continuing learning, is that no one can take it away from you.

Over 57 billion in damages, and over 45 acres burnt to the ground. Insurance companies declined to renew 2.8 million homeowner policies in the state, including 531,000 in L.A. County. Looks like a war zone.

California 😭😭💔💔

Can dogs and wildlife eat pumpkin?

👉It is a good source of fiber for dogs and wildlife and is thought to be a good cure for both constipation and diarrhea. The seeds can be ground and added to oatmeal and honey to make a tapeworm treatment.

👉Pumpkin seeds are packed full of antioxidants that are good for your dog. You can roast them without extra salt and then turn them into powder with a food processor.Or just process them raw. They’re good for your dog either way.

👉Pumpkins are a safe and nutritious food for wildlife, especially when the weather gets colder and other food sources are scarce. However, there are some things to keep in mind when feeding pumpkins to wildlife:

📣Painted pumpkins

✅️Painted pumpkins can be toxic to wildlife, so it's best to keep them indoors or away from animals. If you do paint your pumpkin, look for nontoxic options made from natural ingredients.

✅️If you want to share pumpkins with wildlife, you can cut them into pieces and leave them out in your yard. You can also use the seeds as a treat for birds, chipmunks, and squirrels.

📣Do not use pumpkin pie filling as it can contain spices like mace and nutmeg, which are toxic to dogs and wildlife.

📣IMPORTANT NOTE!📣
You should not feed wildlife pumpkins that are rotting. Rotting pumpkins can contain bacteria that are harmful to animals.

Cars magnify heat, especially when you step into your parked car on a hot day, the steering wheel and the seat feel like they’ve just emerged from an oven. This uncomfortable greenhouse effect can happen even when it’s cooler outside.

👉On a 75-degree day, the inside of a parked car can climb to 110 degrees in minutes. In 20 minutes on a 90-degree day, the same car can get up to 130 degrees inside.

👉Although we humans can sweat and regulate our body temperatures, this extreme heat can still be deadly, especially for infants and toddlers. Dogs have a harder time adjusting to heat than most humans, so being stuck in a hot car can quickly become life threatening.

✅️5 Alternatives to leaving your dog in the car

✅️Use a drive-thru for errands when available
✅️Bring a friend who can play with your dog outside while you run your errand
✅️Shop at pet-friendly stores where your dog is welcome to browse with you
✅️Eat at an outdoor café where your dog can sit with you
✅️Leave your dog at home where it’s cool and safe

👉There’s a California law that states if you’re concerned for a vehicle-bound animal’s safety and can’t find its owner, you’re legally allowed to break into the car to rescue the dog — but only if you call authorities first. You would be expected to wait with the dog until an authority (animal control, fire department, law enforcement or 911 emergency service) arrives at the scene, Los Angeles Times.

If you are hot, your pet is too!

It's easy to judge, but it's more difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion, patience, and willingness to believe that good hearts sometimes choose poor methods.

👉Through judging, we separate from one another, but through understanding, we grow.

✅️When you judge someone without knowing, you don't define them. Instead, you define yourself.
