Our sweet Agnes is going in today for her first surgery.

Her bloodwork and cardiology screenings came out fine and I trust our vet team with MY life, but I still always get nervous when one of our seniors go under.

These are just SOME of the animals that are under our care.

We always look at applications and pick the one that seems the best for the animal's needs and long-term care. This doesnt mean that other apps arent amazing - we just always work with the animal's best interests in mind.

As someone who has done this for nearly half their life, I do take pride in knowing that nearly all animals placed, have stayed with the chosen home.

So, when you're looking for a new little love to join your family, look for the perfect match and dont just go for looks. Personalities are everything and a lifestyle matching that personality is the ultimate goal.

These babies just want to be loved and given the proper care - whether you live in a rented apartment or you own your home - whether you live in L.A. or move to Timbuktu - whether you are single or have family - the care should be as consistent as the happiness these babies bring for a lifetime!

After all, home IS where the heart is ❤️🧡💛💚🩵

Senior Jelly is wondering if ANYONE is ready to take this shar pei home!!

Autumn loves kisses and hugs and play time and hopping like a bunny for treats... and Jelly is SO OVER not being the only cute center of attention 🙄

Jelly just doesn't know that if SHE wasn't here, Autumn would probably not be leaving 🤪🤪

She is AMAZING with all dogs and kids. Crate and potty trained. Does okay with cats too!

Remember Yuki?

Well, he is looking a LOT better and nearly time for him and his sister to find their furever home(s).

We still have some vetting to do and make sure our vet team gives them the all-clear, but Yuki is a warrior and he deserves the BEST home possible!

Yuki and his sister (still need a name!) have two older siblings (Rose and Lilly) who are 5 months old and also need a home of their own.

Agnes is such a cutie patootie!

I may never know why NOT ONE SOUL wanted to help her – but I know she is now SAFE and looking forward to better days ♡

Thanks to YOU, our amazing Village, we were able to help this senior in her time of need.

Agnes is estimated to be at least 10 years old. As you can see, she has suffered for quite some time. Having tumors is no fun, but having to drag one nearly half your body weight has got to be so draining.

My heart breaks for the many other animals who continue awaiting their hero at the countless high intake animal shelters in our State/Country in their cold concrete cages - and for the majority of them, their hero will never come.

After nearly 16 years of rescuing, I've come to realize our animal overpopulation and neglect/abuse issues will never come to an end and NOTHING I do will ever be good enough to fix this broken system.

Humans can be SELFISH and willingly IGNORANT. There could be a million laws against this very thing, but there's NOBODY willing to enforce them.

So for now, I do what I can.

And if that means saving one overlooked, plushy, senior baby at a time — then so be it. ♡

Our days have been a little crazy. Switching from hot to cold within hours. BRRRR 🥶🥶🥶

With us now breaking our own rules of , I find myself low on basically everything!

Our food pantry is nearly empty. We also have 1 towel and 2 small linens left. I hadn't restocked anything as we hadn't planned to start animal intakes, but life happens and the need to help is grater than my need for rest — so, I must start preparing for our intake reopening!

Lets make your easier and head on down to .animal.hospital with your new or gently used blankets, towels, linens, and comforters!

Aside from our Diamond Bar vet, we also have drop off locations (foster homes) in South Gate, Downey, South LA, DTLA, Beverly Hills, Pomona, Upland, Anaheim, Buena Park, Barstow, Santa Clarita, & San Diego!

(We will also start accepting dog and cat food if you'd like to help in that way instead!)

Agnes, Devore's is out of the building and away from the forever needle.

She had been at the high intake shelter for several days without any rescue interest.

She was supposed to be PTS yesterday. I saw her listing TODAY and, by a miracle, she was still there!

Agnes is estimated to be 10 years old and has THREE MASSES (rather than the ONE we were told she had)

We are going to need our village to help us help her.

Her vetting estimate is at $2,500 right now.
That includes mass removal, much needed dental, spay, & senior panel.

We have a bit of a cushion fund but as you know, Donations leave before they come in and our life-saving programs can, once again, be at risk.

If you can spare even $5, it will help little Agnes TREMENDOUSLY!
