Yesterday, Teamsters from across the golden state spent the day in Sacramento talking to legislators about bills and legislative priorities that are vital for members across the state, AB 1776 the COMPETE Act (Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry), SB 1371 Waste Worker Bargaining Rights (Senator María Elena Durazo) and ensuring our CA film and television jobs program 4.0 is protected against SB 122.
We want to give a special thank you to all the legislators, especially Assemblymember Liz Ortega for her work in passing AB 1818 which will modernize a 50-year-old bargaining law so CSU negotiations actually reflect how budgeting and bargaining work today.
Our message was straight forward across all of the bills: protect our jobs, prioritize working people and hold greedy corporations accountable.

TEMPERATURES ARE RISING. HEAT-RELATED INJURIES AT UPS ARE DROPPING.

Why? Strong Teamster contracts make a difference.

According to OSHA data, heat-related injuries at UPS dropped 35% from 2023 to 2025.

The 2023 UPS Teamsters National Master Agreement delivered historic heat-safety protections, including air conditioning in new package cars, additional fans and ventilation, Cool Zones and stronger protections for workers experiencing heat stress.

Winning these protections at the bargaining table was only the beginning. Teamsters continue working to make sure they are enforced on the job.

The goal isn't fewer heat-related injuries. The goal is zero.

THAT’S A WRAP ON DAY TWO!

More than 1,500 Teamster women spent the day building their skills, sharing strategies and strengthening our Union at the 2026 Teamsters Women’s Conference.

From contract enforcement and steward training to organizing, photography and social media, today’s workshops gave Teamster women more tools to lead, organize and build power in their workplaces and Locals.

Learning together. Leading together. Building Teamster power.

DAY ONE OF THE 2026 TEAMSTERS WOMEN’S CONFERENCE!

More than 1,500 Teamsters gathered to hear from rank-and-file women who stood together and fought back against union busting at Costco, UnityPoint and Amazon.

The day also highlighted the fight to pass New York City’s Delivery Protection Act and the growing movement to hold employers accountable.

Tomorrow, Teamster women will continue building power through workshops focused on strategizing, organizing and strengthening our Union.

Teamster women are changing the game!

When North Las Vegas needed them most, Teamsters Local 14 members were there.

They made sacrifices during the financial crisis. They showed up during the pandemic. And they continue providing the essential services that keep North Las Vegas running every day.

Now these workers are fighting for a fair contract.

We were there for the city. Now it's time for the city to be there for us.
