Is anyone else concerned with the Pomfret Fire Department Chief seemingly using public resources to essentially bribe our volunteer fire department to influence their vote on the upcoming solar project question at our Town Meeting? This is deeply concerning! Town of Pomfret CT shuts downs comments on the town's page this week and now this!

Pomfret deserves facts, not a rubber stamp.

We STILL have no lease agreement, no official RFP, and no formal site plans—only glossy marketing slides with projections and zero real revenue numbers or answers about which distressed towns will profit off our land.

This vote SHOULD go to a full-day referendum, not a one-night town meeting in a cafeteria capped at 400 when we have far more voters. Every resident deserves a real chance to vote.

If you want this brought to referendum, message me to sign the petition. You can also stop by Baker’s Dozen tomorrow between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.—circulators will be there with petitions ready.

PLEASE SHARE ~ Pomfret Residents: Do you want the full timeline on what's going on with Pomfret's rushed solar array project? I break it down in my latest YouTube video, as well as document a lot of other troubling facts surrounding this in my latest blog.

Why did the Town of Pomfret CT start deleting and restricting comments regarding this proposal on social media? (Using our paid social media specialist, no doubt)

Why does an elected representative (Selectman Emilio) not get to view the official RFP or drafted lease agreement?

What changed from the March presentation to the June presentation?

Why the rush?

Where are the details?

Will there be a phase two with batteries, or can they guarantee there won't be?

If a deal is too good to be true, they should be able to show us the proposal, supporting documents showing a proven track record with this solar company, and the lease agreement. Otherwise, it's a lot of hot air (in my opinion).

Today, I am going to walk you through a timeline of events surrounding Pomfret's rushed solar array project. Something isn't adding up. Hi friends and neighbors in Connecticut’s 50th District! 🇺🇸

I’m asking for your help to support Tony Emilio’s campaign for State Representative. To qualify for the state’s public financing program (the SEEC Citizens’ Election Program grant), Tony must receive at least 150 individual donations from residents of the 50th District.

A simple $5 donation from you will count toward that 150‑donation threshold and move Tony closer to qualifying for critical state funding for his campaign.

If you live in the 50th District, please take a moment today to chip in $5. Every small contribution helps Tony get the resources he needs to run a strong, community‑focused campaign.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️ Link to donate: https://secure.anedot.com/tony-in-26/contribute

Take this walk with us and really look around — this is what our town is about: forest, trails, wildlife, peace. 🌿 Now ask yourself: are we seriously talking about trading this away for a best‑case $200 break on your tax bill for one year? Our taxes will keep climbing, but this land, once bulldozed for a commercial solar field, is gone forever. And what happens when the developer cashes out, goes out of business, or walks away? We’re stuck with 25 acres of industrial scar tissue to clean up on our dime, and the wildlife that calls Murdock home doesn’t get to come back. Meanwhile, Connecticut already has some of the highest electric rates in the country, and this developer stands to make big bucks selling power to Eversource, only for it to be resold back to us at a premium. So who’s really benefiting here — Pomfret families, or a private developer chasing profits on public land? This is a bad deal for our town: short‑term crumbs in exchange for a permanent loss of something we can never replace. Who is actually looking out for Pomfret families?

Here is most of the most recent Board of Selectmen special meeting in Pomfret. Unfortunately, our town still does not offer virtual meeting access despite taking ARPA grant funds allocated for that. My 360 camera shuts off the recording at 30 minutes so I had to restart it each time it went beyond that point. That is the only reason for a couple of cuts because the meeting did go over an hour.

Items discussed were the Board of Education appropriation request and the proposed solar array.

To date, One of the Selectmen still only has the same information available to the public. She has been denied access to see the RFP and the lease agreement that is being negotiated.

The Pomfret Democrat Town Committee chair had a quick outburst in the doorway and made his exit threatening Republicans in the next election if this solar project doesn't go through. My camera didn't catch the full outburst, but we do have the audio and part of the video which I've added in a separate video on my YouTube channel that you are welcome to view listed under my shorts section.

A place for paddling, fishing, and wildlife… now facing the possibility of industrial-scale development.
Is this the future we want for Pomfret?
