Turboprop engines hold a special place in military aviation, particularly when it comes to cargo airplanes. What is negative stability in F16 fighter?
The F16 fighter jet is one of the first aircraft to be designed with negative stability, or more precisely, relaxed static stability (RSS). This means that the basic airframe of the F16 has a very low or slightly negative static stability, which makes it more maneuverable and responsive to control inputs.

This also makes it difficult or impossible for a human pilot to keep the F16 under control without the help of a computer. The F16 has a fly-by-wire system, which is a computerized system that constantly monitors and adjusts the flight controls to stabilize the aircraft and prevent it from going out of control.

The fly-by-wire system of the F16 uses feedback from pitch rate sensors to stabilize the aircraft. This means that the system measures how fast the aircraft is pitching up or down and adjusts the elevators accordingly to counteract any unwanted pitch movement. The system also allows the pilot to select different flight modes, such as normal, override, and backup, which affect how much authority the pilot has over the flight controls and how much assistance the system provides.
The negative stability of the F16 also varies with speed and altitude. At low speeds, the F16 is unstable, meaning that it has negative static stability.
