We are always accepting the items on the flyer for the Lions of Illinois Foundation recycling program. You may see a small cardboard box with the Lions logo on the side at First State Bank-Polo and Law Offices of M. Tom Suits to deposit said items. On May 21, we are making a trip over to LIF with what we have so far, so if you have additional donations to the cause we will gladly accept them. We appreciate your assistance with this program!

Last week we welcomed District Governor Marcia Meyers and her husband PDG Gary Meyers. DG Marcia presented on her project, Canine Companions, a cause that over 2,000 Lions Clubs across the country support. Club President Mark Bocker presented DG Marcia with a donation for her project that will help provide life changing service dogs to individuals with disabilities.

We also officially welcomed new members Rae Schupbach-Roe and James Meador to the club!

On Tuesday evening, we hosted our 78th annual Farm/Business Night meeting, a tradition dating back to our inception in 1948. The meeting was very well attended by local farmers and business owners, and we were pleased to welcome Dan Carmichael as our guest speaker. Dan's program focused on John Deere's development of autonomous tractors. Thank you to all of our farmers and business owners, as they are an integral part of our community!
