Mark your calendars: All you can eat Taco Fiesta Night starts back up again on Friday, August 21st from 4:30 - 7:00 pm at the Community Center and will continue on the 3rd Friday of the month through October. In addition to tacos with lots of filling choices, Chef Alli will have a special entree. The bar will be open selling beer, wine, margaritas and soft drinks. Dinner is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and members and $8 for kids 12-under. Proceeds go to support your Community Center.

CPR AED/First Aid for adults, children and infants training and certification course was held Sunday, August 2nd at the Community Center. Nevin Wygant, authorized instructor, offered the course with 7 people attending. It was a very comprehensive course with lots of opportunities to revive dummies and expel foreign objects! National Night Out will be held at the Po***ck Pines Camino Community Center this coming Tuesday, August 4th 5-8 pm. Come meet the first responders that work in the Po***ck Pines area and get to know some of the organizations and services around here. There will be food, music and activities.

Come join the party at the Po***ck Pines Camino Community Center! Dinner and drinks will be served until 7:00 tonight. In addition to tacos, Chef Alli put together some tasty beef fajitas and a chicken enchilada casserole. All this and more for $16 for adults, $14 seniors and members and $8 12 and under.

The Wagon Train is headed to Po***ck Pines on Friday, June 5th and we will be celebrating with music, food, shopping, a big raffle and lots of good old west fun! The fun begins at 10:00 am with baked goods, vendors selling their wares, pony rides for the kids, blacksmith demonstrations and fire engines. And don't forget to buy your raffle tickets! The grill will be open from 11-2 serving hot dogs and hamburgers. The wagons will be rolling in around 1:00 and festivities will continue with a chicken and rib dinner beginning at 4:00 and the sounds of "Last Call" from 4:30 until 8:00 pm.

Additional Tai Chi class, a discount for 2 classes and a slight class time shift: Dawn will be offering an additional Tai Chi class to be held after the Senior Strength and Balance Class. This will enable Dawn to provide more attention to each individual.

Discount: Dawn has agreed to offer a discount if you participate in 2 classes on the same day. One class is $10; 2 classes $18.

Class schedule on Thursdays:
10:00 - Tai Chi
11:05 - Senior Strength and Balance
12:10 - Tai Chi

Both Dawn and Rick would greatly appreciate it if participants would pay for classes a month at a time. It would really help with logistics.

The Po***ck Pines Camino Community Center will be hosting the Highway 50 Association's annual Wagon Train on Friday, June 5th. This is the Center's biggest fundraising event of the year featuring food, bar, raffle, vendors, and entertainment. We need lots of volunteers to help with planning, clean up, set up, decorating and on the day of the event with logistics, security, parking, sales and food. Our next planning meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13 at 5 pm at the PPCCC on Sanders Dr. If you would like to help, even for just a couple of hours, you can come to the meeting or email the center at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 530-647-8005.

Tai Chi is happening at the Po***ck Pines Camino Community Center every Thursday from 10-11! It's a great, slow moving class that works your muscles isometrically and your brain. Cost is $10 per one hour session. Dawn, our instructor, is very knowledgeable and patient! Even if you've never done Tai Chi before, you will find this class welcoming and a pleasant workout. And if that's not enough, or isn't your cup of tea, Dawn also teaches a strength and balance class for seniors from 11-12 on Thursdays. This class is also for 1 hour and is $10 for the hour. Please come 10 minutes early to sign up. Hope to see you there!

We will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, March 14th at the Po***ck Pines/Camino Community Center from 4:30 - 7:00. Come join your friends and neighbors for a fun time and a fabulous corned beef dinner for only $18. The bar will be open if you wish to purchase drinks.
