A heartfelt thank you to Polk City's, Erin Port, for engaging us in a hands-on workshop based on her Amazon #1 new release, Tiny Tweaks, Happy Life. Erin guided us through what quietly drains our energy and joy, then gave us the opportunity to work as a team to brainstorm small and actionable tweaks we could immediately put into practice. She also generously donated a copy of her book to the library, which will soon be available for checkout.

Consider joining us for next month's professional learning opportunity. Sarah S. Uthoff, a nationally recognized authority on Laura Ingalls Wilder will blend captivating stories and insights into Wilder’s life with fascinating food history and a hands-on cooking experience. Set in the 1930s, we will step into Laura’s kitchen, where she is busy managing the abundance from her summer garden. Open to all ages! No sign-up necessary.

Join us on Wednesday, July 1 at 7:00 to discuss Take my Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez.

Inspired by true events, Dolen Perkins-Valdez’s Take my Hand follows Civil Townsend, a young nurse in 1970s Alabama who discovers that her clinic is performing forced medical procedures on two young Black sisters. The novel explores Civil’s lifelong journey to seek justice for the girls and serves as a powerful reminder of the systemic injustices within the American healthcare system.
