COMING SOON! H.A. BROS DINER to join Main Street family!

Alrighty folks! The kitchen equipment has been installed, the final touches are going up, and everything has been made official, so we’re ready to let you in on the secret. The new restaurant going into 301/303 Main Street is…. long-time food truck favorite H.A. Cafe, owned by Eric Veith and City Councilman Cody Greathouse!

You all know them, you all love them, they’ve been around since 2021, and now they’re going all-out with a brand new brick-and-mortar restaurant on Main Street. They’ll be slinging their classic pulled pork and burgers, along with nostalgic Point Pleasant favorites like Carolin Harris’ Jim Dandy Philly Cheesesteak. I’m also told by certain sources that they’ll have a well-stocked bar on one side of the building, and are already looking forward to hosting trivia nights and other events once the initial rush slows down a little.

They’ll be restarting their Facebook account this evening, so head on over to H.A. Bros Diner (H.A. Café) and keep your eyes out for their menu postings, hiring notices, and of course, their official grand opening date, which we’ll share here too. And more to come soon in the official press releases!

We’ve been having a great time this weekend at Battle Days at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park, and it’s not over yet! We hosted 593 kids yesterday for Living History Day, and we very much enjoyed seeing everyone at last night’s lantern tour and today’s activities in the park.

Tonight, we’ll be showing the new WV PBS show on the Revolution in WV at dusk in the park, and tomorrow, we’ll have the Colonial Church Service, followed by the Battle of Point Pleasant Memorial and Wreath Laying.

Director Chris went straight from the Mothman Festival to Washington, DC, where we’re meeting with our representatives alongside friends from the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia about improvements to the Historic Tax Credit program, permitting and historic regulations, continued support for small businesses and Main Streets nationwide, and of course, infrastructure upgrades to get people safely to and from Point Pleasant!

We’re also joining meetings tomorrow with preservation leaders from across the country to discuss best practices, strategies, and the future of historic preservation in the United States.

In the midst of the Mothman Festival, we welcome a new store to our Main Street family! Kelly Roach-Miller has opened The Mothman Statue Legacy, a store to celebrate the artwork of her father, legendary local sculptor Bob Roach.

Part store, part museum, it showcases Bob’s welding gear and some of his creations, and Kelly has plenty of items for sale commemorating his work. The mini-Mothman statues are a work of art in themselves, and as time goes on (and now that the Festival has wrapped up), Kelly plans to bring more of her dad’s other statues into the merchandise.

We’re so excited to have Kelly downtown, and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t cry a little when we saw Bob’s welding gear and the hobby horse he made for his grandkids.

Stayed tuned for an official ribbon cutting and welcoming party!

Main Street America invites small business owners to share their experiences in their Fall Small Business Survey! This helps the national program develop additional business workshops and lobby for support at the state and federal levels.

This survey from Main Street America is intended for owners of small businesses who currently benefit or could potentially benefit from Main Street programming.

One for the record books! This year’s Mothman Festival is wrapping up, and we’re estimating a record breaking crowd of approximately 35,000 people over the three days! You all were amazing, we hope you enjoyed our wonderfully weird little slice of Almost Heaven, and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Photos from yesterday’s Revolutionary War reenactment at Tu-Endie-Wei, the Time Traveler’s Ball, today’s events, and then a bunch collected from across Facebook Land. Don’t see your photo? Send us your favorites in the comments!
