One of our favorite junior volunteers was out helping us today! 💙

He joined us in collecting donations from Manasquan Bank on Route 88 in Point Pleasant, and we couldn’t be more grateful for him and for every volunteer who gives their time to support The Village.

Volunteers of all ages make what we do possible. Whether you’re helping collect donations, organize the closet, greet families, or simply lend a hand, you are making a difference in the lives of local children in foster care. 🫶

🌟 Bright Side Bags — and a full-circle moment! 🌟

Back in 2021, we delivered our very first Bright Side Bags to a local police department. Since then, we’ve continued providing them throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties for children who may find themselves at a police station during an emergency removal.

Today, we were so excited to expand our outreach into Mercer County, delivering Bright Side Bags to the East Windsor Police Department! 💚

Our mission is simple: provide comfort and a little brightness during what can be a very scary moment for a child.

And we’re happy to serve any child in New Jersey who has experienced foster care. 💚

Years later, we’re still growing—and it’s all because of this incredible community. 🌟

💚 This community continues to amaze us. 💚

Saturday, our volunteers worked hard to switch over the Village and get everything ready for the new season. And tonight, 7 local foster families came through our doors to shop.

Our freshly cleaned floors and rugs had children playing, while our newly stocked bookshelves had little hands browsing and choosing books. 📚💚 It was exactly what we hoped to see—a space that feels welcoming, joyful, and full of possibility.

And then there’s the generosity happening behind the scenes…

We published our wish list just last night, and some of those items were already arriving today. 🥹

Four different times in the past week, people who had only recently learned about The Village-Serving & Empowering Foster Families reached out and donated simply because they wanted to help.

This is what community looks like.

Every donation. Every volunteer hour. Every bag of clothes. Every book. Every person who shares our mission.

We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for continuing to show up for the local foster children and families we serve. 💚

💚 6th Time, Same Big Hearts! 💚

Today marked the 6th time Life Chapel has come to the Village to help us with our season switch—and we are beyond grateful! 💚

As we get ready for back-to-school season for the local foster children we serve, more than 20 amazing people of all ages gave up a beautiful Saturday morning at the Shore to come serve, organize, clean, and give.

What would have taken us weeks to accomplish, they completed in just 3.5 hours! 🙌💚

Back and forth to storage.
Sorting. Organizing. Cleaning.
Making sure everything is ready and looks just perfect for the kids.

And we have to give a HUGE shout-out to our incredible Village volunteer team who put in the work behind the scenes to prep everything before Life Chapel arrived. 💚 You helped make today possible, and we are so thankful for every hour, every trip to storage, every box moved, and every detail you took care of.

Six times Life Chapel has shown up for us—and six times they have reminded us what community, generosity, and service truly look like.

To the entire Life Chapel crew and our Village volunteers: THANK YOU. 💚 Your time, energy, and willingness to serve make such a difference for the children and families we serve.

One of our favorite little shoppers has been growing with The Village-Serving & Empowering Foster Families since he was just a baby, and watching him grow over the years has been one of our greatest joys. ❤️

Every time he comes through the doors, he brings a little extra energy, curiosity, and so much personality to the Village! 🥰

We absolutely LOVE watching these kiddos grow, learn, explore, and thrive right before our eyes. They truly become part of our Village family, and we’re so grateful to be a small part of their journey. 💛

Meet Our COO, Kait Greenberg

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Chief Operating Officer, Kait Greenberg, on being recognized by Ocean County CASA as this month’s Volunteer Spotlight.

For the past four years, Kait has been a driving force behind The Village-helping support foster, adoptive, and kinship families across New Jersey through essential resources, scholarships, comfort items, and community events.

Inspired by the children and families she serves, Kait became a CASA Volunteer, advocating for children in foster care and ensuring they have a consistent, trusted adult looking out for their best interests.

“Becoming a CASA felt like a natural next step. I wanted the opportunity to make a more personal impact by advocating for children in foster care and supporting the families who open their hearts and homes to them.”

Kait’s compassion, leadership, and commitment to children extend far beyond her role at The Village. We are honored to have her leading our organization and making a difference every single day.
