Request for Assistance — Home Accessibility for a Navy Veteran
I am seeking community support for a 65-year-old Navy veteran living independently in Pocatello. In January 2021 he underwent a below-knee amputation of the left leg due to bone infection. In January 2023 the same condition required amputation of the right leg.
He continues to manage daily life on his own. He currently enters his home by pulling himself up the stairs and then dragging his wheelchair after him. During a case study I completed with him this past summer, it became clear that he has been living without the basic accessibility modifications that would allow him to remain safe and independent.
I am covering a portion of the cost personally. Clean Up Repair will complete demolition and cleanup. A local plumber has volunteered his labor.
We still need funding and materials for:

A walk-in / roll-in shower
A raised, comfort-height toilet
A permanent wheelchair ramp

These changes would significantly improve his safety, dignity, and ability to remain in his home. Financial contributions, materials, or additional skilled labor are all welcome and deeply appreciated.

A local man has started a non-profit for veterans and first responders.

We took our athletes to IBJJF San Diego, and our kids got to fight competitors from 3 of the top 10 teams in the IBJJF!

Our competitors worked hard, displayed good sportsmanship and professionalism, and we are so proud of them!

Can't wait to get back on the mays with the team and keep growing and improving!
