Today, another flash flood struck central Nepal, along the Budhi Gandaki river. Homes and bridges were swept away, and families are once again searching for loved ones. Our hearts are heavy watching this happen again, so soon after August.

To everyone who donated to our Nepal relief effort: thank you. We know you have been waiting patiently for an update, and we want you to hear it from us directly.

Your donations are safe. We have not forgotten, and we have not rushed. We chose to hold these funds carefully so they can do the most good, rather than simply giving them away quickly. Days like today remind us why that matters. The need in Nepal is not over, and your gift will reach people who truly need it.

We are working with people on the ground to understand where the need is greatest, and we will share exactly how the funds are used.

❤️🇳🇵 From a Meal Here, to Hope in Nepal

A few weeks ago, people walked through the doors of Himalayan Flavor in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Logan for something very simple — a meal.

Some donated. Some volunteered. Some shared our story. Some gave more than we ever expected.

Together, you trusted us with $10,086.19 to help people in Nepal whose lives were changed by the devastating floods.

Today, that trust is becoming action.

For Phase 1, Lift Lives Today has committed $3,000 to support 40 families with essential food supplies, including rice, lentils, instant noodles, spices, and other basic necessities.

Forty families.

Behind that number are parents trying to rebuild, children whose lives changed overnight, and families who lost things that took them years — sometimes a lifetime — to build.

But our work cannot stop with food.

We have intentionally not used all of the funds at once. We want to be thoughtful and responsible with every dollar our community entrusted to us.

We are now working with local government representatives in Nepal to understand how the next phase of this effort can support children whose families lost so much in the disaster and help them continue their education.

Food can help a family get through today.

Education can help a child build tomorrow.

That is where we hope this journey takes us next.

Over the coming days and weeks, we will continue sharing pictures, videos, and updates from Nepal. We want everyone who supported A Meal for Nepal to see what your kindness is becoming.
