We want to thank everyone who came out last weekend to celebrate our 30th anniversary with us! We had a great time visiting with our friends from the community and watching kids and families enjoy our scavenger hunt. We gave out lots of fun prizes and, of course, books! A big thank you to our volunteers who helped us with the event. And a thank you to Mayor Mark Dahlquist for speaking and reading a proclamation on our behalf, recognizing our 30th anniversary. We had a great time. Thank you all for three decades in the community and we look forward to another 30 years!

Believe it or not June is just a few days away and we are halfway through 2026 already! We've got lots of fun new themes and a fantastic selection of books for you this month.

FATHER KNOWS BEST: June 21 is the day we celebrate Dad. This section is books about fathers and books on topics dad might enjoy - like sports, hobbies, and BBQ/grilling. Since many dads are also Mr. Fix It around the house, we've got some books to inspire (and help succeed) with his next DIY project. We've also put out some mystery bags full of books. These are full of a variety of mystery, suspense and thriller novels - and the entire bag is just $5.00. Could be a great gift to give Dad to help him relax after all the barbecuing and DIYing.

HAVE A LAUGH: Who better to have a laugh with than dad? There's a reason the phrase "dad jokes" was coined. And statistics show it's still predominately men who buy comic books, particularly those related to superheroes. So we thought this was the perfect month to feature joke books, humorous books, comic books, graphic novels and manga. There are many fun and collectible comics and graphic novels in this theme - and for a much better deal than you could buy them online! [Many of the books in this section are specially priced so keep an eye out for price stickers!]

GO WEST!: This is all about the Wild West. We've got both true tales, tall tales and fictionalized stories of the Western Frontier. Both the law and lawless are featured here. You can read all about cowboys, settlers, Native Americans, outlaws, gunslingers, shootouts, pioneers and even stories on the Gold Rush. Just like the West is vast, so is this theme!

The Friends store prices are as follows UNLESS OTHERWISE MARKED: hardcovers are $2.00, softcovers $1.00, DVDs and audiobooks $1.00. Through our store we still get high quality, collectible, valuable items and those are priced individually - though still at a very affordable value. The mass market paperback rounder and kids corner items remain at 25 cents.

The Friends' ongoing sale is located on the first floor of the Marshall Public Library adjacent to the Circulation Desk and is open during regular library hours.

The Friends of the Marshall Public Library is a 501(c) (3) organization; donations are welcome and receipts are available. All proceeds are used to support the library, its programs and its patrons.

Believe it or not, May is almost here! So we've restocked our store with all new themes to ring in the new month.

TRAVEL SIZE TALES: Traveling for Memorial Day? Preparing for your summer vacation? Don’t forget to take along a book for those long drives, long flights, or boring airport layovers. We know books can be valuable on trips but can also take up lots of space. So we’ve pulled mass market paperback books and small books that fit easily in your luggage, purse or even the glovebox. We’ve pulled some of our most popular titles & authors, and best looking books to be your travel companion. All books in this section are $1.00 unless they are otherwise marked with a price sticker.

MUM’S THE WORD: May 10 is Mother’s Day! To celebrate mom, we’ve pulled books that are all about mothers. We’ve also pulled some books that we think would be great picks for mom if you’re looking for a great Mother’s Day gift idea. There are some great women's fiction reads in this section too.

EYE OF THE STORM: Idahoans know weather can be unpredictable, especially this time of year. From sunny and hot one minute to a deluge the next, Idaho experiences a lot of crazy weather. But don’t worry because we’ve got all the seasons covered and we’ve got you prepared to weather any type of storm. Watch out for covers with lightning, blizzards, thunder, floods and more! And just like weather is unpredictable and ever-changing, so is this theme. We've got a broad variety of fiction, non-fiction, specific storm titles, elements and related subjects.
