Hands4Uganda, Inc

Hands4Uganda, Inc Hands4Uganda is a nonprofit dedicated to serving the students at Rock of Ages Community School

Our vision is for a powerful transformation in the community of Mbiko so that each life is moved from poverty to economic stability, from despair to hope, from hunger to health. Further, it is our desire that ROA become a self-staining entity, functioning without benefit of donations from abroad and replicating its success in other communities in Uganda.

The aquaculture project at ROA rounded out its second year of fish farming in January! Half of the tanks were harvested and sold. The funds from the fish sales were then used to purchase more fingerlings (baby fish), fish food, and make repairs to the system. The rest of the fish will be harvested week by week and served to ROA students with their lunch!

🌱 Building a Positive Agricultural Mindset from Day One

At the start of the year, ROA set a key focus: equipping children with practical skills in positive, modern agriculture—and that begins with mindset change.

This term, our Primary One pupils experienced the full growing cycle—from bed to harvest. Under the guidance of Teacher Agnes, each child was assigned a seedling and learned to plant, water, care for and finally harvest. At the end, every pupil proudly took their vegetable home to enjoy with family.
Through this hands-on approach, children learn that food isn’t just bought at a stall—it can be grown in the small spaces around them.

Together, we’re nurturing skills that make homes more productive, families more resilient, and learning more meaningful.
