Hi LLLadies! It's been awhile since I've posted an article, and I'm sorry about that! Here is a great little snippet from Lakeshore Medical Breastfeeding Clinic that expresses the other benefits of breastfeeding. Often, we are focusing on the benefits of the MILK (product) rather than the ACT of breastfeeding (process). Neither product nor process are more important, rather they function cooperatively to provide everything our sweet babies need. This is a great reminder of the benefits of the process. Enjoy!

Happy January everyone! I hope everyone is having a nice start to their new year! I was forwarded this from another breastfeeding mommy and wanted to share with you! Just a reminder: LLL does not support nor condone any other outside source, we are merely a source for support and education! Enjoy!

As the busy holiday season gets even busier, I have an increase in questions about babies not wanting to nurse as much.....this is often referred to as Holiday Weaning. Here's a great little essay on holiday weaning...if you have any questions or need any help with this issue, please call! Happy Holidays! Lexi

One chilly January morning, a group of mothers and babies sat around a living room fireplace sipping warm drinks. These La Leche League members had just finished a lively discussion about the vital importance of breastfeeding to the health of both mothers and babies.

Dear Moms,

As this year draws to a close, we had our final meeting of 2012 today. This is finality for many things...as you know,Heather moved this spring, but now, after over 10 years, Kimberly King has decided to retire from LLL. She has been a great source of positive energy, intelligence and integrity for our group. On a personal note, she has been a fabulous mentor and friend. I will miss her dearly.

Another change that comes with these things is....we will NO LONGER hold monthly meetings, until further notice. I'm currently working on finding a new location and restarting our meetings, but that will not happen for a few months. I am still available for phone help, email help and home visits, just give me a call. You are also welcome to post here on FB and I will get to you.

Thanks for your support this year and I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season! Please promote this page to your friends or family that are interested and I will try to post news articles and such for you all to read.

Happy Holidays,
LLLove, Lexi

Here is an interesting article that talks about breastfeeding on demand.

I was born and grew up in Kenya and Cote d'Ivoire. From the age of fifteen I lived in the UK. However, I always knew that I wanted to raise my children (whenever I had them) at home in Kenya.
