Q: What is The Closet?
A: The Closet is a free gender-affirming thrift store serving the LGBTQIA+ community and anyone in need of clothing. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive space where individuals can explore clothing that helps them feel comfortable, confident, and affirmed. The Closet operates as a program of Gate City Pride.
Q: When are you open, and where are you located?
A: We are open every Thursday evening from 6–8 PM, except on holidays.
We are located inside Station Square at 200 Main St., Pocatello, Idaho.
Thursday evenings are also Open Mic Night at Station Square come by, find some clothes, and enjoy local music.
Q: Are you accepting donations? What do you need?
A: Yes. The Closet runs entirely on donations, and we are always grateful for community support.
We currently need:
• All types of adult-sized clothing
• Winter coats
• New or gently used affirming items such as makeup, jewelry, perfume or cologne, hygiene kits, hats, wigs, purses, and shoes
Please ensure all items are clean, gently used, and free of holes, stains, or heavy wear.
Q: When do you accept donations?
A: Donations can be dropped off at our Station Square location every Thursday from 6–8 PM. Volunteers will be available during that time to accept and sort donations.
Q: Can I volunteer?
A: Yes. We welcome volunteers who would like to help support our mission. If you are available on Thursday evenings, please email us at [email protected] for more information.
