Our community spotlight this week goes to Arkansas Imagination Library for their work in early literacy in Clay, Randolph, and Lawrence counties. Through our Giving Tree grant program, Arkansas Imagination Library has received $2,750 in grants support our counties in 2025 and 2026.

These grants helped provide 5,085 books to 562 children while supporting enrollment growth. Today, 460 Clay County children, or 58.8% of the county’s eligible 0–5 population, are enrolled. NDCF’s 2026 Randolph County grant is currently helping support monthly book costs for local families, with 582 children, or 47.8% of the county’s eligible 0–5 population, enrolled today.

One Clay County mother said the program has given her child “a love of storytelling.” A Randolph County mother shared that her son has gained “a bigger imagination, larger vocabulary, and a curiosity for the world around him,” and that his favorite part is having Mom and Dad read to him before bed each night.

North Delta Community Foundation is so happy to be able to support organizations like the Arkansas Imagination Library so we can assist more children in Northeast Arkansas build home libraries, develop a love of reading, and strengthen the early literacy skills that prepare them for school and beyond.

One of the greatest gifts you can give your family is clarity.

Many people spend years supporting organizations and causes they care about. But have you ever stopped to think about what happens to those charitable intentions if you are no longer able to manage your financial affairs?

You do not have to create a rigid plan that can never change. The goal is to document your intentions while you can clearly communicate them.

A good planning conversation today can prevent difficult questions tomorrow. Read more here>> https://www.arcf.org/blog/charitable-giving-plan-while-you-can/

Our community spotlight this week goes to The CALL in Lawrence and Randolph Counties - a faith-based organization that offers support for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

In 2025, we were able to provide a Giving Tree grant to help The CALL purchase a freezer for their CALL Center, which has allowed them to keep freezer meals on hand to provide to foster families, especially helpful during emergency placement situations. Rachael Netrefa, the Affiliate Director of this wonderful organization, said "Having a ready-to-heat meal available is one small but meaningful way we can help families during those first busy and often overwhelming days of a new placement."

In 2026, NDCF awarded another Giving Tree grant to The CALL which will go towards creating a safe, inclusive playground at their new CALL Center. This playground will provide children with a welcoming place to play and simply be kids while participating in Family Time visits and other activities at the Center. "Our hope is that the new CALL Center will be a place where children and families feel supported, welcomed, and cared for by their own community." - Rachael Netrefa.

North Delta Community Foundation loves contributing to non-profits like The CALL in our region. We always want to make a big impact in our local communities!
