Steppingstone is dedicated to providing a superior elementary and middle school (kindergarten through eighth grade) learning environment for the uniquely gifted child. Developed over 25 years, our curriculum provides integrated in-depth studies and enrichment as well as problem solving and critical thinking skills. Supplementing the basic curriculum, our school also offers fine arts, foreign languages, discovery science, computer education, and physical fitness.

Our Steppingstone School students took learning outdoors today on a fun and festive fall field trip to Plymouth’s Kellogg Park! They enjoyed their lunch in the park.

From creative, handcrafted scarecrows to crisp autumn air, our students had a blast exploring the park, admiring all the amazing community designs, and finding their personal favorites. Opportunities like this give our young learners a chance to connect with local art, enjoy nature, and spark their creative imaginations outside the classroom!

Indigenous Australian art represents one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world, dating back over 60,000 years. Rooted in spiritual beliefs, connection to Country (land), and oral storytelling, Aboriginal art uses symbols, patterns, and natural earth pigments to communicate ancestral knowledge, geographic maps, and cultural history across generations.
Our students in their Art Enrichment were working on creating their own aboriginal art for the past few weeks, enjoy some of their complete work.

Students in Mandarin class participated in a hands-on mooncake-making workshop alongside their Mandarin Instructor who also happens to be the Head of School.The event combined language learning with cultural traditions as students discovered the rich history behind the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time centered on family unity, gratitude, and togetherness. Students joined in measuring ingredients, shaping dough, and pressing sweet lotus and red bean fillings into traditional decorative wooden molds.Check out a few snapshots of our young bakers bringing culture and language to life!

In Science, our students recently dove into the world of electric circuits, building pathways, connecting components, and watching physics come to life as their light bulbs lit up. There’s nothing quite like that “aha!” moment when theory turns into real-world discovery!

Caring for pets in the classroom offers children a profound, hands-on path toward developing empathy and lifelong responsibility. When young learners take part in the daily care of an animal—whether measuring out food, replacing fresh water, or quietly observing its natural behaviors—they begin to look beyond themselves and understand the needs of another living creature. These simple, recurring routines cultivate gentle habits, patience, and a deep respect for all life. Beyond the immediate joy a pet brings to the room, the experience transforms abstract lessons about kindness and stewardship into active daily practice, helping students grow into thoughtful, compassionate individuals who value and protect the living world around them.

A Strong Start to the School Year 🌟
The new academic year is officially underway, and our students and staff have hit the ground running!

Welcome Lunch: Reconnecting over an outdoor pizza lunch on Day One.

Field Day: Fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
