What is 3,000 Acts of Kindness?
It's the biggest thing we do all year.
Every winter, while most of us are gathering with family, celebrating holidays, and staying warm indoors, thousands of people in our community are facing the cold without a place to call home.
That's why each year, Coated in Love hosts 3,000 Acts of Kindness—a massive community effort dedicated to providing warmth, dignity, and hope to our unhoused neighbors.
But what many people don't see is that this isn't an event we throw together in a few weeks.
We spend the entire year preparing for one day.
We collect coats. We organize donations. We build partnerships. We recruit volunteers. We sort, size, inventory, and plan. Every donated item is touched by countless hands before it reaches someone who needs it.
Because when the doors open, we want every person who walks through them to feel seen.
Not rushed. Not forgotten. Not like a number.
We want them to leave with a warm coat, essential winter gear, and the reminder that their community cares.
The name 3,000 Acts of Kindness isn't just about the number of items distributed.
It's about the thousands of moments of compassion that make it possible:
❤️ A coat donated by a neighbor.
❤️ A volunteer giving up a Saturday.
❤️ A business sponsoring supplies.
❤️ A community choosing to show up.
That's why we work year-round. Because kindness isn't a one-day event. It's 365 days of people coming together to make sure no one faces winter alone.
