Last night we held our first Steak Fry and Sportsman Raffle, and we want to thank everyone who came out to support us. We truly appreciate the turnout and the continued support from our community.

We hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food. As expected, there were a few hiccups along the way, but we’re already working to improve and be better prepared for the next one.

If you are a winner of a firearm, we will be contacting you in the coming days with instructions on how to claim your prize.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make the night a success!

Reminder that Ohio's spring burn ban goes into effect today.

Ohio DNR Division of Forestry prohibits outdoor open burning and prescribed fires during the months of March, April and May between 6am and 6pm. This ban includes the burning of yard waste, trash, and debris, even in a proper burn barrel.

For additional information regarding Ohio's open burning regulations, visit https://epa.ohio.gov/divisions-and-offices/air-pollution-control/permitting/open-burning

But wait, there's more...

A winter storm is expected to impact our area, bringing heavy snow, strong winds, and the potential for power outages and dangerous cold temperatures.

During storms like this, we often see an increase in house fires and carbon monoxide emergencies due to the use of space heaters, fireplaces, and generators. Please keep these important safety tips in mind:

✔️ Generators must be used outdoors only — never in a garage or near windows or doors
✔️ Keep heaters, fireplaces, and candles at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn
✔️ Never use an oven or stove to heat your home
✔️ Turn portable heaters off when leaving the room or going to bed
✔️ Use flashlights during power outages — avoid candles
✔️ Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms to ensure they’re working

Also remember:

✔️ Keep driveways and walkways clear so emergency crews can access your home if needed
✔️ Make sure your house number is visible from the street
✔️ Check on neighbors, especially the elderly or those without power
✔️ Ensure your furnace and dryer vents are clear of snow and ice buildup

For more winter fire safety information, visit the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA): https://www.nfpa.org/winter

Please stay safe and weather-aware during this storm!

Special thank you to Stanley Black & Decker Willard plant for the donation of a brand new snow thrower just in time for what is said to be a "significant snow event" for our area. It is greatly appreciated.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out this morning to support us and tour our new fire station! We underestimated how many of you would show up, and we couldn’t be happier to have been proven wrong. The turnout was incredible and the event was a huge success thanks to our amazing community.

A special thank you goes out to John and Charlie at the Community Market and Newswanger Meats for sponsoring the event and helping make it possible. We also would like to thank Plymouth Improvement Committee for helping out! Your generosity and community spirit mean the world to us.

We are proud to serve this community and can’t wait to share more events and memories with you in our new home. Thank you again for your continued support!

As you change your clocks, remember that it is just as important to change the batteries in your smoke detectors!

• Smoke detector batteries should be tested monthly and new batteries installed every 6 months.
• Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. If no manufacturer date is listed on your smoke detector, consider it older than 10 years.
• Many newer smoke detectors have a sealed self-contained battery that will last the lifetime of the detector. When the battery fails, replace the detector.
• There should be at least one detector on every floor of your residence (outside of bedrooms is ideal).

Don't have any working smoke detectors in your home? The Plymouth Fire Department offers FREE SMOKE DETECTORS to residents in need! Call us at (419)687-5101 for more information.

We are OFFICIALLY moved in!

Tonight, your Plymouth firefighters transitioned into our new home at 911 Mary Fate Park Drive (formerly 184 Sandusky Street).

This marks a major milestone in our department’s history — one made possible through the hard work of our members, the generous support of the Milliron Foundation, and the continued trust of our community. We’re excited to begin this next chapter serving you from our new station!
