Today was a record setting day for Marshall County DAV Chapter #42. Approximately 300 veterans received National Service Officer and Chapter 42 Service Officers assistance with filing claims for service connected disabilities.

Additionally, 20 veterans received word of their service connected disability ratings since last months meeting. The following is the number of veterans and the disability ratings awarded: 7/100%,
3/90%, 2/70%, 6/60% 1/50% and 1/10%. Congratulations!

Many people are still asking for our hrs on the second Saturday of the month. The doors open when the manager of the facility wishes. Veterans can start signing in when the Sargent at Arms gets there, between 7and 8am. Our meeting is from 9:30am - 10:30ish. The NSO arrives later and sees every Veteran that signs in before 4pm.
There will be no Meetings or NSO, November and December. The NSO will return in January, and after, God willing. Our meetings will resume in March with officer nominations. Election will be held at the April meeting. Please search your abilities, to carry forward this chapters ability to serve Veterans, and it's support for an amazing and dedicated NSO.

Congratulations to the 19 veterans who were awarded VA Service Connected Disability Ratings since last month (August). The following is a listing of the VA percentage disability ratings and the number of veterans receiving them: 100%/8, 90%/3, 80%/4, 60%/3, and 10%/1.

245 veterans met with the National Service Officer (NSO) who assisted them with filing claims for VA Service Connected Disability benefits. Marshall County DAV Chapter #42 is honored and privileged to host the NSO's monthly visits to Plymouth.

Marshall County DAV Chapter #42 Chapter meeting will not be held this month. The next chapter meeting will be on the second Saturday in October, the 10th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Although there won't be a Chapter meeting, VETERAN'S WILL STILL BE ABLE TO COME AND MEET WITH OUR NATIONAL SERVICE OFFICER (NSO) WHO WILL BE HERE. As in the past, NSO services will be available to all veterans who have given the DAV power of attorney to represent them with seeking VA Service Connected Disabilities benefits.

Veterans who have not given the DAV their power of attorney can do so by seeing one of Chapter #42's Chapter Service Officer's either by coming to see them on any Wednesday between 9 am to 1 pm or any 2nd Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, at the Marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth, IN. Veterans can expect their power of attorney applications to take approximately 2 weeks for processing before being able to meet with the NSO.
