Reminder: Tree Blitz on September 14 at Point Park

Just a reminder that the next Tree Blitz (mulching of the trees) will take place on September 14 at Point Park in Old Village.

The event has been moved to the middle of the month due to the Labor Day holiday and the Fall Festival.

We hope to see you there and appreciate your help in keeping our trees healthy and our community looking great.

Hi KPL Team,

We had a great turnout last night at Hough Park! A huge thank you to Steve, Josh, Bill, Lauren, Adam, Lee, and Robert for showing up and supporting the trees of Plymouth. Even though the heat index was high, it wasn't so bad under the shade of our great trees!

Thanks to everyone's hard work, the KPL crew managed to mulch a number of our smaller trees, and Hough Park is looking in excellent shape.

Spread the Word: Please remind your neighbors to sign up for free Street Trees provided by the city. It’s a fantastic way to keep our neighborhoods green!

It's a beautiful night to come down to Garden Park from 6-7 p.m. and volunteer! We're mulching the park trees, all tools and mulch provided.

Good news for our native species and landscapes! The headline for tree lovers: Bradford pear trees will now* be on the prohibited list. Many people love the look of these trees and they were used extensively for the last many decades, but they are invasive.

*They have not been planted as a public tree in City of Plymouth for several years.

Four popular shrubs and trees will be illegal to sell after a phase-out period for the nursery industry. Two aquatic plants face immediate prohibition next month.

City of Plymouth residential property owners are eligible to receive a free street tree from the City of Plymouth (supplies limited based on available funding).
