The NEHA 1,000 Challenge starts today.

Here's the deal: We need 1,000 donors to support 1,000 future environmental health professionals.

The people who ensure your drinking water is safe.

Who investigate disease outbreaks.

Who protect communities from environmental hazards.

These students exist right now.

They're in classrooms learning how to test water quality, inspect food facilities, and investigate health concerns.

But tuition, lab fees, and textbooks add up fast. Scholarships remove those financial barriers.

Your donation dollars cover study materials, pay for lab fees, and make a semester less stressful.

1,000 donors. 1,000 future professionals. 1 healthier world.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are a relatively new form of electrical infrastructure that help utilities store energy during periods of low demand, and use it when we need it most. These systems also pose fire safety and chemical contamination risks concerning to the communities hosting these projects.

On December 3, MEHA is hosting a webinar with Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and Code Red Consultants to review the state's new permitting process and guidelines for BESS projects, and share tips on how to keep your community safe.

Registration is free for MEHA members, and $25 for non-members: https://maeha.org/event/webinar-battery-energy-storage-systems-permitting-and-safety/
