We had an incredible time hosting “Sliding Into Summer: Celebrating Allentown Students, School Staff, Families, and Community” alongside AFT and the Allentown Federation of Paraprofessionals #1716!

The event, which took place at the Sonia Sotomayor Dual Language Immersion Academy in the Allentown School District, was hosted as a part of AFT’s campaign, to provide free resources — including 4,000 children’s books — to Allentown students, staff, families, and the community.

Thank you to our partners, including AFT’s Paraprofessional and School-Related Personnel division, the Allentown School District, Rep. Ana Tiburcio, the Pennsylvania Legislative Latino Caucus, UNIDOS, UNIDOS US Action Fund, Mega 101.7 Allentown, and Counseling Solutions of Lehigh Valley for helping us make this event a success!

That’s a wrap on AFTPA’s Advocacy Day 2026! President Wendy G. Coleman, Vice President Billy Hileman, leaders and members from PFT3, PFT400, NFT1417, and TAUP4531, and our AFTPA staff had a day full of productive meetings with the elected leaders from across the Commonwealth who represent our members and districts. Together, we’re making sure that our union’s priorities are met in the upcoming budget.

Thank you to the many Senators and Representatives who met with us today, including Speaker McClinton, Chairman Schweyer, Sens. Williams and Hughes, Rep. Mazzocco, and more!
