We had the opportunity to meet an incredible organization out in Las Vegas at CABDA — Forgotten Not Gone. 🇺🇸

Their mission is powerful:
👉 Stomping out veteran su***de by getting veterans active, connected, and supported through cycling and community.

They’re doing amazing work — providing bikes, building community, and creating real impact for those who served.

And honestly… it hit home for us.

At Battles to Bikes, we believe in that same idea — that two wheels can change lives. Whether it’s helping a veteran rediscover purpose, find connection, or just get back outside again… it all matters.

If you’ve supported, donated to, volunteered with, or received a bike from Battles to Bikes — even though we’re a grassroots organization…

🚲 Battles to Bikes Donation Bin Now Available! 🇺🇸

Today, we officially placed our first Battles to Bikes donation bin at The Bike Lab - Pittsburgh & Kittanning (Plum location) an easy way to support veterans while donating gently used clothing and shoes.

👕👟 How it works:
Community members donate clothing and shoes, and Battles to Bikes receives a portion of the proceeds based on the total pounds collected. Those funds go directly back into our mission to support veterans through bikes, programming, and continued outreach.

If you’re a business owner — or know a business that would like to support our mission — and would be willing to host a donation bin at your location, we’d love to connect with you.

👉 There is absolutely no cost to participate.
Just a simple, space-friendly way to give back and make a real impact in our veteran community.

Battles to Bikes

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our Battles to Bikes recipients.

He was a veteran and a valued member of our community, and we are deeply saddened by this loss. While we may not know all the details, we do know that too many veterans are carrying battles that feel impossible to fight alone.

If you are struggling, please don’t isolate yourself. Reach out to a fellow veteran, a family member, a friend, or someone you trust. And if you don’t have someone you feel comfortable reaching out to, please know that you can always contact the Battles to Bikes board — one of our members will be more than willing to listen.

If you need immediate support, you can call or text 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24/7, and you are never a burden for asking.

Please check on your people. 🤍

We were honored to partner with the Pittsburgh Warriors, and our hearts are with that entire family during this incredibly difficult time.

As we grieve this loss, our mission remains steadfast. Battles to Bikes will continue to show up, continue to serve, and continue to support veterans through movement, connection, and community — honoring those we’ve lost by carrying the mission forward.

🇺🇸 New Bike Day! 🇺🇸

Our bike recipient, Nikita, was a tad camera shy but we are so honored to gift this Giant Revolt to her! This is the third bike we have been able to give away this week in recognition of Veterans Day. What a blessing made possible in large part by The Armstrong County Community Foundation!

We thank you for your selfless service, Nikita. You are an inspiration to many, including us. Enjoy your new bike!

What an honor it was today to gift a new bike to Harry, an American hero!

This Veterans Day, Harry, a Kittanning resident, received an Aventon Aventure M from Battles to Bikes. We hope he enjoys the great outdoors on his new e-bike! ⚡️⚡️

Last evening, Board President Jim Yurek and Board Member Ashley Price accepted a generous grant on behalf of Battles to Bikes.

Thank you to Armstrong County Community Foundation and its donors for making it possible. This will allow us to purchase more bicycles for local veterans in need. We are grateful! 🇺🇸

Today was a truly special day. Whether you rode 6 miles or 22, every single pedal stroke and every donation made a difference. Together, we’re helping veterans on their recovery journey—and that’s what this ride is all about. 🚴‍♂️🇺🇸

A huge thank you to Elk Brewing for donating the post-ride beers, and to the Quick-E Food Truck for partnering with us and keeping everyone fueled up.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was being able to gift veteran John a bike. Congratulations, John—and thank you for your service. 💙

And finally, congratulations to Ryan, our 50/50 raffle winner! 🎉
