What if your city changed how it viewed you as an artist? What if it lifted you up like we do tradesmen?
Why does this timeline seem to be what's in store for us all!?
Now....don't me wrong! We all can't wait to be the old weirdo in our crazy home studio!!!
BUT! What if there was an arts nonprofit organization that's looking to do things differently?
Collect & Gather is in the middle of a big pivot. But not mission-wise. In fact, C&G is doubling down that arts access for your local creatives and workforce support for professional artists is what every community needs an injection of!
But it all starts with changing how non-creatives see their creative economy. It may have to unlearn what it has been taught to value. True artist advocacy asks us to rewire our thinking: to stop viewing art as a luxury, artists as hobbies-with-a-price-tag. The goal isn't to convince everyone to become an artist. It's to build a community that understands why artists deserve to thrive, even when their work doesn't serve the interests of the wealthy, the commercially successful, or the already well-connected.
Most artists feels like underdogs their entire life. What if there was a fork in the timeline to change that?
