Heavenly Father, create in me a clean heart. Let Your Word show me the places where my thoughts, words, and actions stray. Take away the bitterness, disappointment, and hurt I am holding onto, and forgive me for the times I have not followed Your example of forgiving instead of clinging to those things. Renew my heart and draw me close to You so that I cling to Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Merciful God, Your very nature is to show compassion to sinners like me. Because You have had mercy on me in Christ, let Your mercy be seen in my life. When people meet me, let them see not my strength, but Your Spirit at work in me.
Give me opportunities to reflect the mercy I have received, and when I fail, draw me back to Your grace. As You deepen my faith, shape my heart to be merciful as You are merciful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lord God, You Yourself create in me the hunger and thirst for righteousness, and only You can satisfy it through Your Word and through Christ my Savior. Strengthen me to cling to the hope You give in the Gospel, and help me reflect Your love in my life toward others. God of all comfort, you see those who mourn, and in your mercy, you promise to draw near. Turn our grieving hearts to your sure and certain promises. Bring healing where there is hurt, hope where there is despair, and strength where we are overwhelmed.
Let us find our comfort in Christ, who has carried our sorrows and conquered death for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

You are the giver of every good and perfect gift, and you are all I need.
Please restore my hope and joy, and draw me closer to you.
