Help us congratulate our June DSP of the Month, Nicole Santiago!

Nicole is a caring, empathetic, and compassionate person who consistently goes above and beyond to support others.

When an individual Nicole supports underwent eye surgery and did not have family available to assist her, Nicole stayed with her—even though it was not Nicole’s scheduled day to work. She also helped with meal preparation and made sure she was comfortable.

Nicole continues to support the individual with trips to the bank, helping her manage her finances and maintain her independence.

Thank you, Nicole, for your exceptional dedication, kindness, and compassion. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! ⭐️

This event will be happening in our new space located at 409 Manville Road in Pleasantville NY. All proceeds will benefit the SHS Teaching Kitchen to help us continue to provide meaningful opportunities for the people we support. Every class, she sees how limited counter space and storage makes cooking classes more challenging. She also sees what's possible with a space designed to better support the needs of the participants who use it.

Meet Mike! 🍔 👨‍🍳

He is an amazing burger chef who always brings a smile to the kitchen!

Through our kitchen program, Mike discovered a passion for cooking while gaining hands-on skills and experience that helped him begin working at a local burger restaurant. Today, he's still learning, growing, and doing what he loves.

That’s the power of a teaching kitchen. It gives participants the chance to learn, practice, and turn new skills into real opportunities.

A redesigned teaching kitchen will help more participants like Mike gain valuable job skills and take meaningful steps towards employment.
