🎉California made it easier for families to access child care!🎉

This weekend, Governor Gavin Newsom signed TFC-sponsored SB 902 (Senator Tim Grayson) into law!

Beginning January 1, 2027, parents will be able to electronically sign paperwork for subsidized child care programs. This will make it easier for families to complete important paperwork wherever they are.

Thriving Families CA (TFC) Foundation thanks Senator Tim Grayson and his staff for championing this issue and helping advance a practical solution that makes accessing and keeping child care a little easier for California families.

We also thank our SB 902 co-sponsors BANANAS, Child Action CDA, Go Kids Go, Hively Alameda County and KinderCare Learning Centers, and all of the organizations that voiced their support for this important legislation.

It’s a simple change, but one that can make a real difference for families. TFC was proud to sponsor SB 902 and work alongside nearly 40 organizations across California that formally supported the bill. Together, we helped make this common-sense change a reality.
