Dear NowRoz Festival Family, Fans and Friends,
We would like to say happy NowRoz to you all.
23 years ago our team and group created the NowRoz Festival in the United States in the hopes to unite our community for generations to come.
20 years ago we created the brand ‘NowRoz’
Our unique way of spelling it has become a standard and an icon and pastime for our community. The reason why we created the brand and unique way of spelling the holiday name is so we can stand apart from all the rest in the world.
Years later the ‘NowRoz Festival’ became the world famous NowRoz Festival... Boasting over 600,000 attendees since its start. As well as being featured in many magazines and tv shows such as the ‘National Geographic’ for being one of the top cultural destination events in the world.
NowRoz Festival is held annually in Pleasanton California and no other festival is associated with our brand unless it has our brand mark and label.
As you all know the weather has been extremely unpredictable this past year and about a month ago we got info that it will rain on our holiday weekend. As you know most our community does not go to our festival when it rains. As we all saw clearly last year. Regardless even if we announce our festival as a Rain or Shine event. So because of last year’s weather scare we decided to reserve a second day for the NowRoz Festival in May, not thinking that the holy month of Ramadan begins on the first week of May this year.
We wish we had a crystal ball to show us how the weather has become so beautiful this week. If we knew this last month we would have never requested a second date or even decided to postpone the festival.
Please know that the NowRoz Festival requires a very large budget to produce. 12 months of hard work goes into the festival and Our organization produces the festival annually with our own funding. We have worked extremely hard through the years to keep the festival consistent and fun as we always bring the best performers and rides and other activities for the entire family.
Our festival is like no other. We actually produce an amazing festival! not some basic event that some copy and just bring a basic stage with a couple performers and thats all. We have hundreds of people involved with the festival. It’s a once a year celebration and we always want it to be amazing.
But we also can not lose! Loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars in one day because of the weather is very hurtful. We would love to have members in the community support us, rain or shine. Other communities that have this type of festival have members that pay annual memberships and large sponsors and their community brands support the festival unconditionally.
It’s amazing to see kids all grown up as adults, bringing there kids to the festival. Seeing teenagers now as adults and married. Wow, so amazing. Seeing everyone All together as one is beautiful. Showing support and love for each other is magical. Yes, we’re Young ourselves. Our team is a young team. We started the NowRoz Festival when we were 19 years old. We learned a lot in the years and we appreciate all of you so much.
We love you all For being right beside us all these years. Always believing in our festival and events. We thank you so much for everything. You are amazing and we would be nothing without your support and love.
But, Please know that we can not have the festival during the holy month of Ramadan. And with the initial weather scare the only choice we have is June!
With all this said we have decided to push the NowRoz Festival to June as we will combine “for this year only” the “Annual NowRoz Festival with our EID Celebration”

This is the first time in our NowRoz Festival history that we pushed the festival to another date. We hope you understand and we hope you will support us this year and in years to come. Please know that next year, no matter rain or shine the NowRoz Festival in Pleasanton California or wherever we open new festivals will happen 100% and we should join hands and show the world our heritage and culture.
Please always look for our brand and logo. Because If it’s not us, it’s not a official “NowRoz” Festival event.
