Thank you to all who were able to help in any way you could to make the 2026 West Coast Championships more successful than last year. We saw a 40% increase in athletes and were blown away by the response. Even in the rain everyone chipped in where they could. Huge thanks to the Arizona Highland Celtic Festival Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society for having us out for the second year to provide athletics. Thank you to all our sponsors for your support whether that be providing awards, items for swag bags, or just some food for all these athletes. Day 2 of the West Coast Championships brought the men to the field and they did not disappoint. Of the 9 events contested 5 different athletes took first in at least one event. After a long day of rain we got a reprieve with cloudy skies and mid 70s temperatures. Things were tight all day long but Jacob DuVall Jacob DuVall came out on top bringing the belt once again to the Pacific North West as Josh Hamill Joshua Hamill did last year. Rounding out the podium, Lawrence O’hara Lawrence O'Hara took Silver and Timmy New Hips Barton Tim Barton took Bronze. The 2026 West Coast Championships are in the books! Dee McGillivray is now the Two Time West Coast Women’s Champion, but her journey to get the belt wasn’t easy. Just 1.5 points behind Dee Maia Garren Maia took 2nd place overall with her sister Milly Milly Garren taking 3rd to round out the podium. We had 8 wonderful women athletes come out and battle it out in the rain, thunder, and lightning with us at 7,000+ feet of elevation in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ. Thank you Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society for putting on The Arizona Highland Celtic Festival and welcoming us back again this year. Also, thank you to our sponsors SAI Sport Kilt Stars & Thistles and Sisterhood of HighlandThrowers for all you did for our athletes this past weekend!

The 2nd Annual West Coast Amateur Championship - Men’s Competition will take place at the Arizona Highland Celtic Festival on July 19th 2026 in Flagstaff. These games serve as an official automatic qualifier for the West Coast Championships in Flagstaff, Arizona (July 18–19). The winners of the Men’s A and Women’s A classes will secure their spot!
