The Golden Gate Area Council is incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of the Alameda Boy Scout Foundation.

Scout Executive Mike Hale,Tom Farris, Council Major Gifts, recently accepted a generous contribution from Alameda Boy Scout Foundation Board Members Jeri Morgado and Tom Farris. With this latest gift, the Foundation’s support for Scouting programs increased it’s support to $50,000 this year.

These investments directly support the life-changing programs delivered by Mike Hale, our dedicated staff, and the incredible volunteers who help shape the next generation of leaders throughout our communities.

Merit Badge Registration for Advance-o-Rama 2026 is officially open.

Scouts can now sign up for merit badge opportunities and start planning their advancement goals for the event.

Trail to First Class opportunities and adult trainings will also be available throughout the weekend.

Camp Herms is the place to be today! We have over 50 District and Council leaders coming together to refine District operations in the Lodge. While the real important work is being done next door with our NYLT leadership team! Way to go GGAC youth leaders!

Our Scouts have committed to selling $1.3 million in popcorn over the next 10 weeks to help them earn their way to camp! Our professional team, guided by the best Volunteer Popcorn Kernel in the country, Angela, spent today sorting and helping load your vehicles and get you ready to pop for success this fall! Make sure to visit our scouts early in often, booths start in Saturday!
