📯 Calling all Trail Dads! Check out this YouVersion Trail Life inspired devotional.

"Staying Connected a Devotional for Dads Rasing Boys"

💪 Stay strong in the Word of Lord men.

As a father, raising a son can feel like hiking a long, challenging trail. You want to guide him well. You want to raise him to be a godly man of character. But sometimes… you just need a little direction and encouragement for that next step.

That’s why we’re excited to launch our first-ever YouVersion reading plan—designed to equip and encourage dads as they raise boys with purpose, wisdom, and faith.

This week-long plan, Staying Connected: A Devotional for Dads Raising Boys, offers practical, biblical insight for everyday moments, helping fathers lead, listen, and walk closely with their sons through every season.

Because shaping a boy into a godly man doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one day, one conversation, one shared moment at a time.

This is true. Men especially young boys MUST be allowed to fail in order to grow mentally and spiritually. When they come back and tackle that SAME challenge again and SUCCEED, the confidence and pride that they can do it is inspiring.

"One of the most important things Trail Life does is give boys earned accomplishment in an environment that’s challenging, where they may fail, and where they’re expected to get back up. You’re preparing men for the world — because when he gets out there, nobody hands him a participation check."

🇺🇸🙏 What an awesome night at Trail Life USA Troop WI-1201!
(3/27/2026)

We kicked things off strong by honoring our country with the Pledge of Allegiance, renewing our Trailman Oath, and starting the meeting with prayer asking God to bless our time together.

The guys then split into teams and had a great discussion on FAITH: Honoring God with our hobbies. We talked about how much we all love our hobbies (way more than homework or chores 😂), and how important it is to use them in ways that honor God.

We dug into Philippians 4:8-9 and challenged the Trailmen to focus their thoughts and actions on what is true, noble, pure, and lovely.

Then came the fun part... the boys got to show off their skills! 🏹🔫 There was some serious Nerf gun marksmanship on display — these guys were having a blast demonstrating their shooting hobbies!

To cap off the night, we had an epic Trailmen vs. Leaders showdown — the classic 10-pace duel! Trailman Bradley came in absolutely lethal and took no prisoners! 😂🏆

We wrapped up the meeting full of laughs, great memories, and closed with prayer.

Another great night growing in faith, character, and fun! So proud of these Trailmen!

🔥 What an awesome night at Troop WI-1201! 🔥

We kicked things off with our Colors Ceremony and were excited to welcome 3 visiting families and 6 visiting boys! One brave visitor even stepped up to lead the troop in prayer 🙏

Game time was wild as the boys burned off energy with a fast-paced game of Capture the Flag 🏃‍♂️🏴‍☠️

Navigator Mason leveled up his knot skills tonight — mastering the double hitch! 👏

Trailmaster Jax then led a powerful devotional on biblical service and how we can show the love of Christ by serving others.

Key Verse Highlight:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Matthew 22:37-39 ❤️

After that, the Trailmen taught our guests the difference between tinder, kindling, and fuel — then everyone raced into the woods to gather supplies! 🌲

The best part? Everyone (including visitors) got to spark the fire with a ferro rod 🔥

We ended the night with a delicious blur of hot dogs, marshmallows, and s’mores 🍔🔥🍫

It was sad to say goodbye to our new friends, but we’re thrilled to announce we have a brand new Trailman and dad who officially joined Troop WI-1201 tonight!

Stand by for their joining photo! 📸

Great job, Trailmen! Can’t wait for the next adventure! 🚀

⛺ 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇𝘃𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽

🤩 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲! Troop WI-1201 just experienced our first Badger State Rendezvous — and we are officially hooked! The verdict is in: We are 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿!

From the moment we loaded up the van, spirits were sky-high. Even though the forecast screamed storms ⛈️, our Trailmen and leaders showed true grit and pushed through the wind and rain like true Sons of Liberty.

We rolled into a beautiful Trail Life USA camp hosted by the awesome C.J. — thank you for everything!

💨 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, but our dads and Trailmen teamed up like pros to set up camp. The teamwork was incredible!

⭐ 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗼 stepped up big time, joining a provisional patrol. He (and the older Trailmen) handled setup, cooking, planning, and leading — what a powerful growth experience! So proud of these young men.

🔥 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲! It took focus, persistence, and a whole lot of effort, but they got a strong blaze going. We’ll definitely be practicing that skill back home!

🍔 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱? 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰. Camp provided great ingredients, and Trail Dad Jeff worked his magic over the campfire. From setup to the “good stuff” on the plate — Jeff’s passion for outdoor cooking made every meal a highlight. Thank you, Jeff!

✝️🎸 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 time was deeply moving. Watching Trailmen, dads, and leaders lift their voices together in praise to Jesus Christ created memories that will last a lifetime.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 — obstacle courses, air rifle range time, capture the flag, model rocket launches, scavenger hunts, card classes, and so much more. It was impossible to capture every great moment, but one thing is clear:

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 — building character, strengthening bonds between fathers and sons, and raising up the next generation as "Sons of Liberty, Sons of Legacy," through Jesus Christ.

These men could have stepped back, and no one would have blamed them. They’d already given years. Their sons had grown. Their time had been poured out. They had earned the right to rest.

But instead… they leaned in. Because they saw something bigger unfolding.

So they stepped back into the circle, and started doing what seasoned men do best—sharing stories, offering perspective, and investing in whoever God placed in front of them.

Somewhere between the laughter and the lessons, they’re passing it on. Handing off wisdom. Steadying the next generation.

Not just leading boys, but strengthening the men who will lead them next.

That’s how a legacy is built.
That’s how a nation is shaped: one faithful man at a time.

And here’s the truth: you don’t have to “have done it all” to step in.

If you’re willing to show up, there’s a place for you here. So come join the circle. There’s always room for one more.

• 🇺🇸Started the night off right by respecting the Pledge of Allegiance and honoring the Trail Man Oath during our colors ceremony.

• 💪After Colors & Oath we recognized a new troop leader! Woodlands Trail Guide Darel has proven to be trustworthy and knowledgeable addition to WI-1201! Thank you for all your hard work!

• 👩🧑Troop Master Rick then opened up our meeting with a word of prayer and explained the nights events. Tonight the boys would be learning the importance of biblical and God honoring family.

• ⚽Game Time the Woodlands patrols played a game of "Keep it UP". The young Trailmen had to work together to the keep a ball from touching the ground while standing around a ring. It's harder then you think! Boys are strong and love to show it off, this was a great exercise in understanding 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 and 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 (strength under control).

•🪢 Navigators used this time to complete some rope work for their badges and one completed all requirements for their Recruit Trailman badge! Bowline and Square knots were mastered tonight. (𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝!)

• 🎂🥳Lastly two from our fox patrol celebrated birthdays! 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝘽𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙣!

⛺The meeting ended with more prayer and preparations for the 𝗕𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗢𝗨 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣 this weekend!
