Our tribal government in Pleasant Point will be offering less services for the next two or more years. Tribal members often seek help from tribal government for important things such as a leaking roof, or food vouchers, etc. There is not a lot of money that circulates within the reservation. Many tribal members need tasks done, homes repaired, and a myriad of other services. Often times, the triba
l members simply do not have the money to get these tasks done. This creates much stress for our people in need. On my drive back from a workshop in Augusta, I was brainstorming; trying to come up with a solution that would help our people with their needs. I founded SRT in hopes I would get enough volunteers to help with home repairs on reservation. Unfortunately, the participation was nearly zero. This forced me to make a decision not to focus on home repair. Instead, we decided to focus on our cemeteries, and the beautification of our home. I was thinking about the old days. How our ancestors addressed these issues. Create a one stop shop for the exchange of goods and services. You do NOT need a specialized skill set to participate in this program. You can offer house cleaning services. You can offer pet sitting and dog walking. You can mow lawns or shovel snow. You can offer any service that may be useful to the tribal member who has the skills you need at that time! You can PM me or post on this page the skills or goods that you are offering. I will organize and compile these by trade. Once compiled, you will be free to barter!
