On Friday August 7 at 0747, rescue and EMS crews from PMES, Union Dale and Forest City and Cottage Hose Ambulance were dispatched to a MVC with entrapment. Four PMES responders arrived on scene POV and provided up dates. 28 Engine one arrived on scene and established command, Units from Union Dale and Forest city were cancelled en- route, as driver self extricated and the vehicle was well off the road. After evaluation by PMES EMS personnel and interrogation b PSP, the driver refused transport to hospital. All units returned to service.

At 1049 am PMES Engine and tanker were dispatched along with multiple companies for Mutual Aid to Northern Wayne for a garage fire at a camp on State Route 370. PMES tanker went directly to the scene as 28 Engine was directed by command to set up a fill site on Lake Lorraine and proceeded to fill incoming tankers. PMES units released by command at 1249.

At 1756 PMES Ambulance 28-3 was dispatched along with Union Dale QRS for medical call in the vicinity of Elk Mountain. Union Dale QRS personnel arrived on scene and provided care until PMES Ambulance 28-3 arrived. UD QRS and PMES EMS worked together to get the patient from the lower level of the house out of the house, loaded on stretcher and into the ambulance. Ambulance 28 3 met with Cottage Hose ALS in Forest City. Pt was transported to a hospital in Scranton as per her request, with ALS on board

All of us here at Pleasant Mount Emergency Services are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Eric Bonne. Eric was a Firefighter, EMT, pump operator and served several years as president of the company. Most importantly he was a friend. He truly loved helping people and he did that unconditionally. Eric loved his family and he made everyone fell like family. A typical Holidays at Eric & Lisa's house would be 25 for dinner, with enough food for anyone else that might drop in, and friends always did. He was stern when needed and knew how to make people feel comfortable and laugh, and man could he be funny! I am sorry the last few years of you life were so difficult for you and your family. Our memories of the good times will far outweigh the bad. You are at peace, rest my friend, until we meet again.

This morning at 0151 Pleasant Mount Emergency Services was dispatched, along with Union Dale VFD and Forest City VFD for a car into a pole, car on fire with injuries. Union Dale VFD arrived on scene first, followed shortly by PMES Engine 1 and attacked the fire. PMES ambulance 28-3 arrived on scene and met with the driver of the vehicle. When the situation cooled down, pt was brought into the ambulance where treatment was initiated by BLS and ALS from Barnes Kasson Hospital. PSP was on scene to diffuse a few problems. Northern Wayne ambulance was on their way back from a call and headed home when they diverted to our scene to offer assistance. Pt was transported by PMES ambulance 28-3 to GCMC as per protocol. A huge "Thank You" to Northern Wayne 3U3, Union Dale VFD, Forest City VFD and Barnes Kasson ALS. Great teamwork by all!

Be the Help before help arrives
When emergencies happen, they rarely give you time to think. Your heart pounds. Your brain scrambles. And suddenly you’re wishing you knew just a little more about what to do in those crucial first moments.
“Every minute matters,” says Deborah Erdman, RN, trauma outreach nurse coordinator at Geisinger Medical Center. “Knowing the basics can truly save a life.”
The good news? These skills aren’t complicated. Geisinger’s trauma and emergency outreach teams spend their days teaching our communities exactly how to respond.
This is the third in our continuing line up of educational classes designed to teach basic First Aid skills to the public. This three-hour class will teach you how to activate the emergency response system, what to do if some one is having a heart attack, stroke or has overdosed and many more medical emergencies.
The class will be taught at out Learning Center, 389 Great Bend Turnpike, Pleasant Mount on 8-27 starting a 630pm. This experience if free through Pleasant Mount Emergency Services and Geisinger Trauma, class size is limited to 20 participants, all MUST pre-register with full name, email and phone number at [email protected].

Pleasant Mount Emergency Services is offering the American Safety & Health Institute CPR with AED for Adults* class on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 6PM. The class will be held at our Learning Center, 389 Great Bend Turnpike Pleasant Mount.
Topics to be covered include, activation of the emergency response system, recognition of cardiac arrest, chest compression, use of an AED. Also included, Choking, and clearing an obstructed airway. *Pediatric and infant resuscitation will be discussed.
The class is approximately three hours long, please wear loose fitting clothing as participants will be kneeling on the floor. The class is offered free of charge through Pleasant Mount Emergency Services, Instructors from Cottage Hose Ambulance. Class is limited to 20.

Pleasant Mount Emergency Services will be hosting a STOP THE BLEED class on Wednesday August 12 starting at 630pm at our learning center, 389 Great Bend Turnpike in Pleasant Mount.
This class is FREE and open to the public. Stop the bleed is a national campaign to encourage by- standers to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. A person can bleed out in 3-5 minutes, 40% of trauma related deaths are due to bleeding. This is a 90 minute class, lecture and hands on training. All participants will demonstrate the use of tourniquets, packing wounds and the use of hemostat agents on life like bleeding limbs.
The class is open to all and is free of charge. Class size is limited to 24 students. Participants MUST pre-register with full name, email and phone number at [email protected].

Hearty congratulations to Bob Johnson of Pleasant Mount, who has successfully completed EMT training on the State and National Level to be registered as an EMT Basic. Bob joined Pleasant Mount Emergency Services in January of this year and took the EMT course that was offered at the Pike County training Center. Bob has been running on calls with our EMS crew to help serve the emergency medical and trauma needs of the members of the communities of Pleasant Mount, Herrick, Union Dale, parts of Lebanon Township and surrounding areas. Welcome aboard Bob!!

We are not selling our EMS equipment nor ambulance, it is going on suspended status. We pray the townships come up with an agreement for coverage going forward.
