There’s no better reminder that you’re cared for during the cold months than a warm winter coat to keep you cozy all winter 🧥 Thanks to AWC - Alamo Women's Club, 76 Youth Homes clients were gifted a new coat of their choice so they can feel wrapped in care as the leaves change and the air gets crisp 🍃

We couldn’t be more thankful for the wonderful ladies of Alamo Women’s Club. From academic scholarships and craft workshops, to winter coats and our annual client bowling party, AWC supports our youth at every chance they get and reminds them that their community truly does care about them 🌟💙

Knowing your own shoe size is not something you normally view as a luxury, but many of our clients have never had to, because they've never picked out their own shoes.

Growing up in a low-income family, one of our young clients had to rely on hand-me-downs that never fit, causing discomfort and even injuries. After experiencing tremendous loss, severe depression, and significant life challenges, something as simple as choosing her own pair of Nikes for Youth Homes' annual back to school shoe drive became a moment of joy and hope 🌟

When she received her shoes, her provider described it as one of the happiest moments they had ever seen from her. She didn't know her shoe size before the shoe drive, but now those new shoes are helping her feel confident and excited about going to school.

This is why the Youth Homes Shoe Drive matters. It's not just about shoes, it's about dignity, confidence, and giving young people a reason to take their next step forward 👟 Thank you to the Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church Deacon Group and many other generous donors in our community for making this year's shoe drive possible!
