🎣🌲 SUNY Plattsburgh CEES presents "Volunteer-Driven Watershed Restoration in the Adirondack Park" with Colin Powers, Executive Director of the Boquet River Association - BRASS.

For 40 years, BRASS volunteers have planted 270,000+ trees, removed dams, and protected water quality. Now they're testing Low-Tech Process Based Restoration in the Adirondacks — hand-built structures (no machinery) that slow erosion and recharge aquifers.

Worth a look if you care about healthy streams. 💧

Should be a great time!

Join us for a FREE special screening of award-winning documentary The Fish Thief.

The movie examines the damages of sea lamprey on fish populations in the Great Lakes and the extraordinary efforts of scientists, policymakers, and conservationists to find a solution.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Lake Champlain sea lamprey control experts from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the Lake Champlain Basin Program and the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

FREE PARKING available on campus in Lot 02-Hawkins and Lot 03-AuSable only. Cars parked in other campus parking areas will be ticketed.

Come show off your skills (or just come cheer!) at our Cardinal Casting Classic competition this Saturday, April 25, behind Memorial Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.

he fun runs from 12–5pm and it's FREE!

Citizen science underway! 🤓

Today, Lake Champlain TU members gathered to learn how to build stream data-logging devices—and build them we did!

We were recently awarded an Embrace A Stream grant from Trout Unlimited to monitor depth and temperature in several North Country streams using HOBO data loggers.

Today was our first step: learning the setup and assembling the equipment.

In a few weeks, we’ll be deploying them in the water. More updates to come!
