Family Connections of Southwest Wisconsin has been proudly serving Grant and Lafayette Counties since 2001. This nonprofit, family resource center, has provided a variety of services and support to families of young children, all free of charge. These services have included parenting classes, guided play groups, community resource information, car seat education and installation, and a community closet to provide basic hygiene items, household cleaning items and diapers.
The work has always been funded by grants and donations. This spring alone, 75 grants were applied for, yet two awards were received. Despite these efforts and the generosity of local donors, the funding simply isn’t enough to sustain the services. In response, the satellite office was closed, staff were reduced and public hours were drastically cut. Unfortunately, a perfect storm of reduced support across multiple levels has made it impossible to keep the doors open. All available avenues have been explored to maintain staff and current programming. However, it is with great sadness to announce Family Connections of Southwest Wisconsin will be closing as of October 3rd, 2025.
Thank you to the families, local organizations, individuals, past staff, volunteers, and board members who have stood by us and supported us over the past 24 years. Your support has meant the world, and your impact will live on in the lives we’ve touched.
