Do your neighbor a favor by making this "beetle juice." Japanese Beetles are an invasive species that eat the leaves of fruit trees, bushes and other plants. I used white vinegar and Dawn dish soap. The mix is compostable if your soap doesn't have antibacterial properties and uses natural products.

If you see this plant, garlic mustard, pull it by the base and remove the roots. It's one of the most invasive species in our state. For each plant you pull, you are removing 100 future plants. Be sure you either eat it or throw it away because the flowers will go to seed after being pulled. These pictures were taken at Mound View Park in Platteville.

It's that time of year again. When you mow your lawn, be sure to keep grass clippings off the road. Grass clippings can make the road slippery for motorcyclists.

Yard work is something most everyone has to do, or at least have had to do in their life. But motorcyclist groups across the area are warning people about the consequences, however, that can come from that.
