Dodgeville Area Christian Homeschool group (DACHS) will be producing a 2024 Springtime Play(s) for 5th to 12th grade students who are in Home, Private or Online schooling. We are reaching out to the surrounding area parents and students to gather the number of students interested to be able to plan which play and set auditions. We are looking at auditions sometime in the next couple of weeks (beginning of Feb) and performance dates near the end of April. If your students are interested in auditioning please fill out this interest form and we will put you on our contact list for updates as well as the official audition form. There is a place for comments/questions on the form or you can reach out to the director Cameo Cartwright at [email protected]. Click here for interest form:

After a little hiatus, due to our personal schedules, we are looking forward to some summer opportunities.

1. Park Clean Up–As most of you know, Smith Park will be opening soon. We want to keep it (and all Platteville Parks) looking s**c and span! We will be starting our “Touch up N Lunch” days. First, we will spend some time cleaning up garbage, then enjoy some food and fellowship. Dates will be posted for our meet up times.

2. Ruby’s Pantry–The first Thursday of every month, Platteville United Methodist Church hosts Ruby’s Pantry from 2:30-6:30pm. During the summer, the UWP students will be gone, so they are a little low on volunteers. Please check your calendars to see if June 1, July 6, and August 3 have any availability.

3. Garage Sale–We want to host a “Pay What You Can” garage sale this summer to help raise money for “Family Advocates”. Please reach out if you have any items you would like to donate to the cause, or if you have any monetary donations to contribute.

4. Ideas Meeting–If you have ideas of ways in which we can volunteer and/or help others, we would like to hear from you! We have potential to have a meeting this summer, but please message if you have something you want to share immediately.

Thank you!

We look forward to this summer and seeing as many of you as possible! 😄

~GIVING 2022~

As we shared before, we have three families who could use some support especially during this holiday season. Tomorrow is December 1st, so that leaves us just three weeks to fill their bags with gifts cards and goodies. Below are the family descriptions for you to review and decide how you feel led to give. Thank you in advance!

Family A
They recently had to relocate to the US from a war torn Middle East. This is a family who has 2 parents and 8 children. They are starting all over in a new country. Needs: Housing, Clothing, Gas. Gift card ideas include: Wal-Mart, Aldi, Kwik Trip.

Family B
They fled war in Ukraine and came to Platteville to be with a family member. This family has a mom and 2 young daughters as well as a dad who is still overseas fighting while the war continues. They brought along one bag each, so they do not have many belongings anymore. Needs: Housing, Clothing, Gas. Gift card ideas include: Wal-Mart, Aldi, Target, Kwik Trip.

Family C
They have become part of the Family Promise organization in Grant Co. as they have suffered job and home loss. They are working to overcome these setbacks and find some stability. During this time, they had an unplanned pregnancy, so they are trying hard to find a place before baby boy comes in January. This family includes 2 parents, 3 older children, and a baby boy due in January. Needs: Housing, Baby Supplies, Clothing, Gas. Gift cards ideas include: Wal-Mart, Aldi, Target, Kwik Trip. Other ideas: Baby supplies and clothing of any kind as they got rid of their items from their older children; I already have a box started.
**EDIT Baby has arrived early!!! I will drop off whatever items we have the week of Dec 19th. Then plan to collect more and share later.

You are welcome to message anytime to schedule drop off or a meeting for me to grab items. Thanks again! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
