This week, House Republicans are moving to pass a national "Don't Say LGBTQ+" bill.

H.R. 2616 would ban schools from using trans students' correct names, acknowledging their existence, or even having books with trans characters — and teachers who don't comply could lose federal funding.

Trans kids deserve to feel safe and seen at school. This bill does the opposite.

The recent decision by our federal government to no longer commemorate World AIDS Day is simply another manifestation of their lack of regard for the sick and vulnerable of the world. We, the church, are called to act.
