NAFB has learned of the passing of longtime farm broadcaster Jim Stewart, a familiar and trusted voice for many years in west Texas. He was ag director at KFYO Radio for more than two decades and then joined KRFE in 2005, where he hosted an ag program until 2023.

This year, the foundation will offer scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 each, along with travel compensation to attend the NAFB Convention in November.

The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act has found a new lane for passage as it’s included in the Motor Vehicle Modernization Act. “Leaders on both sides of the aisle recognize AM radio’s unique and indispensable role in keeping Americans informed, especially in times of emergency,” says Curtis LeGeyt, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act appears to have found its vehicle to a vote. The House Committee on Energy and Commerce has included the legislation in its surface transportation reauthorization package.
