Views from tonight’s World Make Music Day 2026 participation, downtown Platte City. There were musicians from the Platte City Community Band and surrounding areas including Parkville, Lansing and Atchison. This was not a rehearsed concert, however an opportunity to gather and make music together knowing others around the world are doing the same for the same reason. Thank you, PCCB Director, Jim Edwards for directing tonight!

This Sunday, June 21st is Father's Day, Summer Solstice AND World Make Music Day. We hope you will end your day with us on the courthouse lawn from 7pm to 8pm. Bring your concert band instrument to enjoy making music with others. No rehearsals. Bring your chair too. Everyone is welcome. We will have the sidewalk chalk out for the kids. Anyone may come to listen; just know this is not a prepared concert. It is about making music together knowing others around the world are doing the same on the same day for the same reason! 😃

6/13/26 ☔️ Cancellation Notice:
Due to the weather forecast for rain this evening, tonight’s 1st of 3 outdoor summer concerts on the courthouse lawn is cancelled. We hope to reschedule with the band, Retroactive for next summer.
We too are disappointed about tonight’s weather cancellation. Plan now to attend the 7pm Sat. July 11th, 2nd of 3 summer concerts by Friends of the Arts.

This month’s featured artist is local photographer, Blake Rudis. You can enjoy his photography in person inside the lobby of City of Platte City, City Hall, 224 Marshall Rd. 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri.
