Time to meet one of our new members of the blue jacket - Miss Reagan Rodgers! Take a peek below to get to know this member better -

1. What is your favorite Maine-Anjou memory?
- Looking back on that week every summer, there is not one specific moment that stands out in my mind. Instead, I think about all the small laughs, memories, and new connections that make it such an incredible experience year after year. Whether it is my family watching a guy try to catch a chicken in a parking lot for 30 minutes in Grand Island, attempting to learn how to ride a RipStik, or celebrating the accomplishments we have been blessed to achieve in the showring, that week is always filled with moments I will cherish for a lifetime.

2. What is one thing you would tell your younger self?
- One thing I would tell my younger self is to be more outgoing and make an effort to talk to more people. Building relationships with people in the industry is one of the most valuable things you can do, and I wish I had realized that earlier. Looking back, I see how important those connections have become, and I would encourage my younger self to start building them sooner.

3. What is a quote or saying you live by?
- “The only thing even in this world is the number of hours in a day. The difference between winning and losing is what you do with those hours.” - Woody Hayes

1. What are your goals as a junior board member for the year?
- My goal this year is to focus on how we can make Junior Nationals an even bigger success. There’s so much to fit into the limited time we have at Junior Nationals, and the Junior Board has been working hard alongside Lindsey and Rylee to continue making the best week of the summer even better. This year’s Junior Board is very like-minded, and we all collaborate well together, so I’m excited to see what we can accomplish.

2. What is your favorite Maine-Anjou memory?
- Definitely the 2026 Maine Event. I went into this year’s Maine Event thinking it would be hard to top the Maine Event held in Florida, but getting to see the operations where so many of the best cattle in our breed come from made the trip extremely memorable.

3. What is one thing you would tell your younger self?
- Every once in a while, stop for a second and enjoy the moment because time goes by in a flash, and you’ll wish you would have appreciated those moments more in the future.

The 127th American Royal Livestock Show is almost here, and we're excited to welcome everyone to the NEW American Royal campus in Kansas City, Kansas!

As we prepare for show week, here are a few important reminders for our Maine-Anjou exhibitors! This information was also emailed.

📅 IMPORTANT DATES & SHOW SCHEDULE

🔹 Tuesday, October 20
• 4 p.m. – Barns Open (NO EARLIER)

🔹 Wednesday, October 21
• 8:30–9:30 a.m. – Junior & Open Show Check-In (Maine-Anjou breed booth)

🔹 Thursday, October 22
• 9 a.m. – Junior Show
• Show Order: Maine-Anjou, Maine Angus, MaineTainer
• Judge: Mitchell Udell, Iowa

🔹 Friday, October 23
• 8 a.m. – Open Show
• Judge: Ty Webster, Missouri

🚛 All exhibitors will go through Vet Check upon arrival. Have your health papers ready!

🐮 STALLING & BARN INFORMATION

• Stalls are pre-assigned and will be marked upon arrival.
• An official stalling map will be posted before the show.
• Tie-outs are first-come, first-served.
• New bedding provider for 2026!
• Please unload efficiently to keep traffic moving.
• No tents will be permitted outside the building.
• Trailer parking will be at Nebraska Furniture Mart and Bass Pro Shops.

📋 HEALTH PAPERS & CHECK-IN REMINDERS

✔️ All animals must have a current CVI issued within 30 days of the show.

✔️ Animals with previously verified tattoos and stamped registration papers only need their registration papers at check-in.

✔️ Animals without tattoo verification must bring BOTH the animal and registration paper to check-in.

✔️ Maine Angus cattle must also have a color-verification stamp.

Hailing from Lakeland, Florida is our first At-Large Director - Miss Carlie Shenefield! Get to know another face of the !

1. What are your goals as a junior board member for the year?
- Going into my second year on the board, I want to continue building on what I learned during my first year. My goal is to help create opportunities for juniors to get involved, step outside their comfort zones, and make lasting friendships. I also hope to represent our members well and leave the association even better than I found it.

2. What is your favorite Maine-Anjou memory?
- My favorite Maine-Anjou memory is winning Quiz Bowl at Lucky in Kentucky. My sister and I were teamed up with two people we had just met, and we had an absolute blast. Winning was exciting, but honestly my favorite part was everything in between the games—playing cards, joking around, and making friendships that I'll always remember.

3. What is one thing you would tell your younger self?
- I would tell my younger self to be bold. It's easy to stay to yourself, but that's not how you learn or grow. Running for the Junior Board was a bold step for me, and it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
