A BIG congratulations to Isaiah on gaining his GED! If you have been following along, you know how hard Isaiah has been studying and working to pass all four of the GED subject tests. We are so proud of him, and all the hard work he put in to complete his goals. We love to help our guys accomplish their dreams, and gaining his GED was one of Isaiah’s dreams, but it certainly won’t be his last! Besides taking these amazing graduation photos, we are also throwing Isaiah a graduation party because accomplishing a dream deserved to be celebrated! We are so thankful for rooted men’s group who created encouragement baskets, wrote encouragement letters, and prayer walked our houses to pray for our programs and for our residents today! It takes a village, and we are so thankful for all the support we receive from our community! Thanks !

We had a great time at our quarterly yay you tonight! Every quarter, we take a pause from our normal class rhythms and go out and have fun as a community and then take time to celebrate all the wins, small and big, that our residents have accomplished over the past three months. Some of the wins we celebrated tonight included opening up a bank account for the first time, gaining new employment, passing GED tests, savings goals being met, driving lessons, and more! We consider it a great honor to come alongside our guys and champion them and be able to tell them how proud we are of them for all the hard work they’re doing to change their lives. Join us in congratulating them on all the wins at this yay you!

We had a blast last night competing in the 2nd annual JRO games! We upped the stakes this year with a trophy that will remain at the winning house until the next games. Both teams put up a great fight, and showed up ready to compete! We are already strategizing for next year :)

Tonight, we finish our 12 week series: Faith and Finances! Over the last three months, our residents have been hard at work learning how money effects relationships, how to differentiate between needs and wants, how to create and adjust a budget, how to gain their credit report and understand the pros and cons of credit, and how to prepare for emergencies and long-term change (just to name a few)! We are so thankful for Rob, our Faith and Finance facilitator, for leading our guys through the curriculum! Our hope is that our guys put the ideas and skills they have learned over the past few months to use in order to change their future!

A HUGE thank you to for sending a group of their freshmen boys to serve at His House today! We loved getting to see their hearts to serve their community and our residents, young men who they have never met. These awesome freshmen deep cleaned, reorganized, labeled, cleaned gutters, wrote letters of encouragement, and a whole other assortment of random tasks! From all of us at His House, thank you!
