The backpack is on. The smile is BIG. And somebody clearly understood the assignment.
This sweet moment from Hope Restored Missions’ Back-to-School Outreach in Plano, Texas, captures what we wanted families to experience today: JOY.
Yes, children received backpacks and school supplies to help them start the new school year prepared. But we also wanted them to walk into a space where getting a little extra support felt exciting, welcoming, and fun.
Because childhood should still feel like childhood.
For families navigating financial hardship, housing instability, or an unexpected crisis, back-to-school expenses can add another layer of stress. Community events like this help close that gap while connecting families to resources and people who care.
And judging by these smiles, we’d say today was a good day.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, partnered, served, packed, carried, organized, welcomed families, and helped make our Back-to-School Outreach possible: look at what you helped create.
This is community.
This is connection.
This is Hope Restored Missions.
Restoring Hope is Our Only Mission.

School starts with more than supplies. It starts with students and families knowing their community is standing behind them.

Hope Restored Missions had an incredible time Tuesday at the Boyd Elementary School Back-to-School Bash in Allen, Texas! We were grateful to be invited to join the celebration and help students prepare for a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year.

Our team came ready to serve, providing backpacks, school supplies, and hygiene essentials to Boyd Elementary students and families. But the best part was the energy. We laughed, connected with families, met some amazing students, and had so much fun being part of a school community committed to helping children thrive.

A very special thank you to Lisa Hernandez, CARE Coordinator at Boyd Elementary, for welcoming Hope Restored Missions and creating opportunities that connect families with meaningful community resources.
Partnerships between schools and community organizations help remove barriers that can affect a student’s ability to show up ready to learn. Whether the need is a backpack today or additional support tomorrow, Hope Restored Missions is committed to meeting families where they are and connecting them to resources that move them forward.

Thank you, Boyd Elementary, for allowing us to be part of your Back-to-School Bash. We are wishing every Boyd Blackhawk an incredible school year!

Backpacks are packed. Hope is ready. School starts with community.

This Saturday, August 15th, Hope Restored Missions is preparing to welcome local students and families for our Back-to-School Outreach, and our community partners have been helping us make sure students arrive ready.

A heartfelt thank you to Lyfe Church for donating these beautiful colorful backpacks. They are more than school supplies. Each backpack represents one less expense for a family and one more student who can walk into school prepared and confident.

We are also grateful to Greenville Oaks Church of Christ for continuing to show up for Hope Restored Missions and the families we serve. And we have to give special love to Ms. Shirley, affectionately known around HRM as “Queen Shirley”. Queen Shirley continues to demonstrate what community service looks like when it is rooted in consistency, generosity, and genuine care for people.

At Hope Restored Missions in Plano, Texas, our work goes beyond meeting an immediate need. We bring churches, businesses, volunteers, and community partners together to help individuals and families move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.

This Saturday, those partnerships will be visible in every backpack handed to a student.

July Gratitude Series
Backpacks packed. School supplies ready. Hope delivered.

As we gear up for our Back to School Drive this Saturday, August 15th, 2026, we reflect on the generosity and commitment our dedicated staff volunteer, Brenda has when giving back to Hope Restored Missions. Because of Brenda, volunteers from Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano came together to assemble backpacks filled with essential school supplies for students preparing to return to school.

Volunteers of all ages organized supplies, packed backpacks, and made sure each one was prepared with care. Their service helps local children and families access the back-to-school essentials they need to begin the school year prepared and confident.

This is what community partnership looks like. When local churches, volunteers, and nonprofits work together, we can remove barriers for families and create opportunities for students to succeed.

Thank you for investing your time, resources, and hearts into the students and families we serve.

July was filled with generosity, partnership, and hope.

Although we’re a little behind in sharing, we never want to miss the opportunity to recognize the incredible people and organizations who invested in Hope Restored Missions throughout July.

One moment that perfectly captures our mission came from Jennifer, a former client who once received services through Hope Restored Missions. While she initially came to us seeking support for herself, she recently chose to pay it forward by donating diapers for mothers currently walking the same journey she once faced.

Jennifer’s generosity reminds us of something we witness every day: the people we serve often do far more than receive help. They become volunteers, donors, advocates, and compassionate neighbors who give back to strengthen others in our community.

Throughout the next several days, we’ll be highlighting the incredible people who helped make July such an impactful month.

To every person and organization who stood beside Hope Restored Missions this past month, thank you. Your generosity is changing lives, one act of kindness at a time.
