Did you know that 61% of low-income families have 2 (or fewer) books for children in their homes?
When you donate to Little Hands Book Bank, you help us put starter libraries into the hands of children who might not otherwise have access to books at home. Babies and young children who are read to regularly are better prepared for kindergarten because they already know letters and the sounds they make, setting them up for success in learning to read and write.
While the costs related to collecting books is minimal, we do have ongoing expenses related to our safe, climate-controlled storage space for books, tote bags to hold the individual libraries, and supplies for cleaning and preparing the books for their new owners.
