Well, I might have been premature about going to Iwo Jima. Right now we are 19 people short of having a second full "charter flight" from Guam to Iwo Jima.
So, I'm putting it out there for any Marine that is interested in going to Iwo Jima from March 25-30th. This is the 81st Anniversary of that battle.
Here's the kicker. The cost is approximately $7,500. This includes airfare, hotel, food and the big after party on Sunday evening, March 29.
And more important, your passport can NOT expire within 6 months AFTER the trip.
So, if interested in making a once in a lifetime trip back tot he most pivotal battle site that swung the war towards the USA in winning against the Japanese to help end WWII here is who you need to contact and NOW. We have until the end of February to fill that plane.
Contacts:
Tim Gutierrez - (214) 274-8261 [email protected]
Joel Meanor - (817) 832-5064 [email protected]
Lt. Col. Raul Sifuentes - (703) 212-8128 [email protected]
By contacting anyone of these people they can send you the packet of information that you should fill out and return. They tell you about the deposit needed and when final payment is due.
So, if interested please sing up ASAP. You will be glad you did and another 50+ Marines signed up will be grateful for you signing up.
On you of the flight confirmed is Don Graves who is 100 years old and one of the few surviving Marines from Iwo Jima. Imagine being on the island and him giving yo a blow by blow of the battle.
I'm really asking you if interested to belly up to the bar now and be a part of history.
And, when reading this please share with everyone on your page so maybe we can get the additional 19 Marines we need.
This will be my last chance to make the trip. And a dream of any Marine to visit this HOLLOWED ground.
SEMPER FI and let's make this happen.
Ooh! Rah!

02/12/2026

I'm going on a "trip" of a lifetime. March 25th through March 30th I'm going to Iwo Jima for the 81st Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima. And Don Graves, presently 100 years old, will be on that tour. He will be the LAST Iwo Jima survivor to visit Iwo Jima. What an HONOR that will be to be visiting the island with him.
Now, if you want to be part of that tour you need to get on the list ASAP, fill out the material required to be on the tour. Last, the cost is approximately $7,200. Yes, that's a lot but for a Marine it is "invaluable".
If you want to go please contact :
[email protected] (214) 274-8261 or [email protected] (571) 569-4522
They can send you the information to fill out and return. Time is a factor so jump on it NOW.
Before you do, make sure you passport is current and WON'T expire for at least 6 months after the tour date.
Marines, if you can afford to go it's an event of a lifetime. I hope you will consider joining a bunch of crusty old Marines and celebrate the 81st Reunion of Iwo Jima.
Semper Fi.

Hello Facebook world. Today was a "FANTASTIC" day at the DFW National Cemetery. Today was the day we picked up the 57,000 wreaths to be recycled. Normally this process from start to finish takes close to 5 hours. The cemetery was fantastic. They opened up to us a section of the cemetery that was not being used yet for burials. We were able to line up our 17 40cubic feet dumpsters in a single row. This allowed us to unload 17 pickup / box trucks, trailers at a time.
This new process allowed us to collect, get to the curb or into the vehicles for carrying the wreaths to the dumpster. We got started around 8:00A, the cemetery was cleaned of the wreaths, placed on vehicles, unloaded into dumpsters and we were finished in 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours.
There were a lot of people responsible for making this happen.
First, the wonderful volunteers who braved the cold, windy day to collect the wreaths. And a BIG shout out to the companies who came to help gather wreaths, or man loading the vehicles with the wreaths or at the dumpsters to UNLOAD the vehicles. It went like clock work.
I'll miss a number of key companies / people but I'll shout out to those I can remember - Caterpillar, Fed-X, Navy Federal, Good-earth landscape, BFI Furniture installers, Keane Landscape, AAR Component Services, Home Depot, and many others I just can't remember.
Also a HUGE shout out to S&H Waste Disposal Services, LLC. Jonathan Lozano, you are the man. He provided the 17 dumpsters (and discounted the service because we are a nonprofit and a veteran organization) and 2 very, very, very important porta potties.
So thank you to everyone who came out, battled the cold and wind, and made this a AWESOME day.
Remember, we CAN'T do this without you wonderful volunteers.
So, do yourself a favor. If you were there today, pat yourself on the back. Don't break or strain your arm. But you deserve the recognition.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
I humbly applaud you for your good works.

From Saturday, December 13th through December 31st, every donation you make helps us prepare for next year's Matching Wreaths Campaign. This is our most important fundraising window of the year - because the support we raise now determines how many veterans, we can HONOR next season.
Every wreath placed at the DFW National Cemetery is more than a decoration - it is a promise that our heroes will never be forgotten. With your help, we can ensure that every veteran receives that honor.
Please join us in the final days of the year. Your gift today becomes a wreath for tomorrow... and a lasting tribute to the men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice.
Honor their legacy. Support Matching Wreaths. Give December 13-31.
How Can You Participate?
By going to our website: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org?TX0706P and donating between the 13th and the 31st we can double our donations for the December 12th event in 2026.
As you know we struggled this year to achieve our goal. And, the DFW National Cemetery will have an additional 5,000+ veterans. Now is the time to achieve the maximum wreaths we can for next year’s event.

We are presently 16, 414 wreaths short of covering every veteran. And we have until midnight tonight to make it happen....

We are presently 16, 414 wreaths short of covering every veteran. And we have until midnight tonight to make it happen.

Please go to: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX0706P and make that donation now.

Wreaths Across America (DFW National Cemetery) is dedicated to honoring our nation’s veterans. Once again, we are working to place an HONOR wreath on every headstone at the DFW National Cemetery.
Each wreath is a symbol of our gratitude, a reminder that the service and sacrifice of our heroes are never forgotten.
Every wreath is made possible by generous supporters like you. Your donation directly ensures that a veteran – someone who stood for our freedoms – receives a tribute worthy of their service.
For many families, visiting the cemetery during the holiday season and seeing a wreath on their loved one’s headstone brings comfort, pride, and reassurance that their hero’s memory lives on.
If you are able, we humbly ask for your support. Your gift, no matter the size, helps us fulfill a sacred mission: To honor, remember and teach the next generation about the true cost of freedom.
Thank you for standing with us – and with our veterans.

Remember midnight is the cutoff. Thank you. And share this on your page. Need this to get a lot of attention.

We just have one more day to achieve our goal of 59,000 wreaths. Can you please help. One wreath is only $17. Go to:
www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX0706P and donate at least one wreath. More if you can.
Thank you for your support.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Remember are troops are spread across the "world" and many will NOT be home for Thanksgiving. So donate a wreath in HONOR of someone you know is or was a "veteran".

Good morning. The DFW National Cemetery "Wreaths Across America" day is drawing close to the final days of donations for "wreaths" at the DFW National Cemetery. The final date by website is December 1st. Please don't wait until then. Wreaths Across America needs our count ASAP so they can prepare to ship those wreaths to us.
We are presently 26,000 wreaths short. We desperately need your help to cover every veteran.
A "wreath" is only $17 each. If you are a veteran, or your spouse, father, uncle, cousin, friend is a veteran please donate a wreath in their HONOR. These men and women took the oath to defend our constitution and protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic.
Go to: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX0706P and make your donation now.
We at North Texas Wreaths of HONOR will match the next 100 wreaths donated to our website. And we will daily provide a status here on our website to show how we are closing the GAP.
We CANNOT do this without you.
Have a great weekend and a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

On September 30th I visited Keane Landscaping to present Ben Dasch, Operations Manager with our "Certificate of Appreciation" plaque for their valuable support of the DFW National Cemetery event on the second Saturday of December. This will be the second year Keane Landscaping has participated.
Ben, we can't make this event happen without your company (patriots) sending out the 2 pickups with big trailers to help us distribute the close to 4,500 cartons last year and estimated 5,000 cartons this year.
We look forward to your participation again this year.

Today I visited AAR Components in Grand Prairie to present them with a "Certificate of Appreciation" plaque. For the past four years AAR Components and their employees have not only supplied a monetary donation but have helped to distribute the boxes of wreaths on the Friday before the Saturday ceremony.
It's companies and their employees who help make the Saturday event in December a success.

Kathy, Stephen and Craig, we can't make this happen without your company and employees pitching in. Not only financially but with good old fashion labor.

North Texas Wreaths of Honor wants to thank you and your whole crew for being a valuable supporter of our project. We look forward to seeing everyone Friday, December 12th and again Saturday, December 13th.

Today I visited Good Earth (a sponsor of trucks / time) to our Wreaths Across America event where we unload tractor trailers boxes onto smaller trucks / trailers to distribute the wreaths across the DFW National Cemetery the day before the big event.
I presented Emily Points (President of Good Earth) and Kevin Points (her brother) a "certificate of Appreciation" plaque for their continued support of NTWoH. For the last three years have sent two pickup trucks with trailers to help spread the boxes across the cemetery. Without their help we couldn't achieve spreading the boxes.

THANK YOU EMILY & KEVIN for your valuable support.

Every December, across the nation, something truly special happens. Volunteers place wreaths on the graves of our fallen heroes - a quiet beautiful reminder that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Here in North Texas, North Texas Wreaths of Honor carries the mission forward. Each wreath is a symbol of gratitude... a simple gesture that says, "You are remembered."
But we can't do it alone. Every wreath is sponsored by someone like you. - someone who believes our veterans deserve to be honored, not just in words but in action.
This year help us ensure that every veteran's grave at our participating DFW National Cemetery is honored with a wreath.
A donation of just $17 places one wreath - but your gift represents so much more. It's remembrance. It's respect. It's love for our country and those who served it.
Please visit: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX0706P and sponsor today.
Together, we can honor. Together, we can remember. Together, we can teach the next generation what it means to truly be free.
North Texas Wreaths of Honor- remembering our heroes, one wreath at a time.
Thank you and donate today
