Today we honor a loving husband, a devoted father, a dedicated firefighter, and a cherished friend. Today we honor Michael Swope, a man whose life was defined by service, loyalty, and love for his family.

Michael gave his heart to everything he did. He showed up for his family, stood shoulder to shoulder with his brothers and sisters in the fire service, and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set.

Lovepacs aims to provide nutritious meals to students, who would otherwise go hungry during school holidays.

Our friends at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Plano are graciously hosting a recognition send-off lunch for the Plano Fire-Rescue Pipe & Drum Corps and Honor Guard as they prepare to serve at the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs.

We’re also proud to share that Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Plano sponsors the Plano Firefighters Association utility trailer, which will be featured at the event. This trailer helps us deliver Lovepacs for underprivileged children here in Plano and also transports cooking supplies to Colorado Springs, where we cook and care for the Pipes & Drummers and Honor Guard while they prepare to honor the fallen.

This send-off is a chance for our community to show support for those who represent us nationally and to stand together in remembrance of firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Chris Everitt, a dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic at Station 1, is married to an extraordinary woman who is breaking barriers and inspiring countless people. WFAA recently shared the incredible journey of Chris’ wife, Nicole, a deaf mother of six, who is pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.
