Today, we proudly celebrate 250 years of American independence and the freedoms that have united our nation since 1776.

From all of us at the Plano Firefighters Association, thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving this incredible community. Whether we’re on duty or celebrating with our own families, we’re honored to be part of a city that supports its firefighters every day.

We wish you and your family a safe, fun, and memorable Independence Day. If you’re celebrating with fireworks, please do so responsibly and help keep our community safe.

This week, several members of Plano Firefighters spent time giving back to our community by volunteering at Second Chance SPCA here in Plano.

Our members helped clean kennels, walk dogs, and assist the shelter staff with whatever was needed to help care for the animals awaiting their forever homes.

Being a firefighter is about more than responding to emergencies — it’s about serving the community we call home in every way we can. Whether we’re on shift, volunteering our time, or supporting local organizations, our members are proud to stand behind the people and causes that make Plano special.

A huge thank you to Second Chance SPCA for the work they do every single day for animals in need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand (and receive a few tail wags along the way 🐾).

Today we honor a loving husband, a devoted father, a dedicated firefighter, and a cherished friend. Today we honor Michael Swope, a man whose life was defined by service, loyalty, and love for his family.

Michael gave his heart to everything he did. He showed up for his family, stood shoulder to shoulder with his brothers and sisters in the fire service, and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set.

Lovepacs aims to provide nutritious meals to students, who would otherwise go hungry during school holidays.
